I pulled the refrigerator out, removed the back panel, disconnected the fan motor. I did not know how hard or easy it would be to remove the fan from the motor shaft so I removed the motor with the fan attached and then removed and replaced the fan. This would not be necessary if you have a lot of strength, but if you need leverage to push the fan down on the shaft you might want to disconnect and remove the motor fan assembly too. Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. First, I did online research to find out what could be the problem with these symptoms of cold freezer and warm fridge. There are videos on You Tube,. After removing the bottom basket, you remove the entire drawer including the door together with it, by using a screwdriver to depress the white clip on each drawer slide which releases the slide from body of the freezer. Once you pull our the entire drawer, you will need to drill out a rivet to remove the old slide. You will need a rivet gun to attach the new slide. Read more

I had verified that the water supply was healthy, so it was either the icemaker unit or the water valve. Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. I ordered the replacement parts. They arrived after two business days in one box. Nothing was missing or damaged in transit. I knew how to replace the parts because this is an old refrigerator that I fixed in the past. Notes: - You will need a nut driver to open and close the screws because they have a hex head. - The new screws that I ordered according to the refrigerator's drawings on the AppliancePartsPros website were much longer than the existing screws.
