Replaced drive motor assembly. As luck would have it, the replacement motor was loud but at least ran for the entire cycle. APP was informed of the excessively noisy motor and immediately sent out a replacement, which is working just fine in relative silence. Tools used: Philips head screwdriver, channel lock pliers, 13mm socket, shop vac.
