Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Noisy bearings   Gerald D. • Belle Vernon , PA • October 18, 2014

Repair went fairly smoothly by following the EXCELLENT how-to video provided. I had only a few issues and suggestions. 1. Because many of the screws and fasteners are of multiple sizes, I would recommend laying them out in a muffin tray or on a paper with labels for where they go back. 2. After removing the weights and prepping to remove the shock absorbers, after the front ones were removed, the tub tilted so far the rear shock absorber separated. The friction pads fell out. First and foremost, much thanks to APP for perfect transaction, and incredible price! The part was shipped quickly, and arrived fast. Immediate Availability of the part was outstanding, and truly saved this Canadian's day! My problem was a broken spider. I followed your excellent video, but have some additional input that should be incorporated in a new video showing the required upgrade procedures and parts required to repair an early model with damaged front tub half using currently available parts. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I have a lg front loading washer that was making a loud grinding noise on the spin cycle   Tim W. • Mckinney , TX • September 21, 2014

A repair man said a bearing was out and estimated repairs at $600+, or just replace unit. I researched parts and video online and decided to tackle repair myself. Appliance parts was very helpful in finding parts, ordering, and shipping. Online help is the only area that needs improvement as I was seeking help in identifying other parts that might need replacement since machine was torn down this far. I worked with several different agents as I was dropped several times. None were of much... Read more

Water Inlet Valve Assembly
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 5220FR2008C

This water inlet valve is a genuine OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in washing machines. The water inlet valve is the gatekeeper for the water flow into the washer. When the operator sets the wash cycle, the solenoid fires up and tells the valve to open the gate for hot or cold water or both to fill the washer tub. When the tub has filled to a preset level, the valve gates close and the water flow stops. If this valve fails, the water will not stop and will eventually flood or the water might not be signaled to flow at all. This repair requires a Phillips screwdriver and pliers. Disconnect the power source and turn the water off before working on the washing machine. Remove the back panel from the washer and locate the inlet valve. Disconnect the hoses from the valve. Remove the damaged valve. Install the new inlet valve. Connect the hoses in the same order they were removed and put the back panel on the washer. Reconnect the water and power. This water inlet valve is made of molded plastic and is individually sold. It does not include screws. It is made specifically for washing machines manufactured by LG.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You FE Error on LG WM0532HW   Curt H. • Covington , KY • March 12, 2014

I found other posts on AppliancePartsPros.com to be helpful. Most people and pros indicated that it was the Cold Water intake valve which has 4 solenoids on it. I watched the video to replace the Hot Water valve which is right next to it. My washer opened differently than the one in the video but it was not hard to figure out. Tools needed; Philips screwdriver and pair of regular pliers. I took the screws off of the small panel on top on the back of the washer. This allowed the control... Read more
