After reading many repair forum posts on similar issues with Samsung washers, I put the machine into troubleshooting mode to look for error codes. No error codes. I did a re-set, and the problem remained. No sign of a broken drum spider or bad bearings. So I replaced all four shock absorbers. This process was fairly straightforward, it took a couple of hours. I watched a video on youtube and followed the directions. The trickiest part was attaching the diaphragm to the tub. The weights were in the way and made it difficult to seal. I ended up removing the weights and it went on much easier. Read more

Noticed large banging in the washing machine when transitioning from low to high speed spin. Also would get a slight smell of burnt rubber. Did an online search and best guess was the spider arm assy was broken. Ordered the spider arm assy, the rear tub seal and the tub seal. I opened the washer and replaced the pump. To open the washer: 1. Remove the 2 screws that are different from the others in the top back corners of the machine. That will let you remove the top. 2. Remove the soap tray and its holder. The tray comes out if you depress the tab in the back center. Its holder comes out if you remove the two screws in the front. Ordered new control knob and replaced broken one. The most difficult part was popping out the control panel so I could access the control knob. I ended up "wrestling" it out. It would be wonderful if the product manual had some guidance on how to pop out all panels. Read more

I took apart the washer to find both of the weight balancers had broken in 2 and were banging around. They had also caused the boot seal to rip. I removed the broken weight balancers and replaced them along with a new boot seal. There was one small spot with the seal wasn't fully attached to the outer drum so I had to take it back apart to fix that minor error on my part. Otherwise, it was a fairly easy fix. Read more
