Hello Bill, These units have a flood switch made under the unit in the base assembly. If water down there raises the float even by a hair, the unit will drain the water out and will not complete the washing cycle. The most common cause or the issue is the water inlet valve 00425458 not fully opening, which causes a dribble of water from the fill assembly on the side of the unit. This small dribble accumulates in the main base and generates the issue.

Pjsey for Model Number SHX33A05UC/14

The dishwasher fills with water but the water is just trickling out our the rotating arms. The pump seems to be making more noise than usual. I paid $135 for a repair visit and after 15 minutes of poking at the pump and turning the wash cycle on and off his diagnosis what the circulation pump was no good. Is it possible to determine this with such minimal inspection? Which part should I order: 19? or 19A? what is the difference? Do you include installation instructions or diagrams? Thx.

1 Answer

PJSey, You would want to check to make sure that there is nothing clogging the recirculation pump which would cause it not to spray properly. If there is nothing clogged in the pump then it is bad and will need to be replaced. The Circulation pump part number is 00239144. It does not come with installation instructions, but to replace the pump assembly you will have to remove the unit from installation. Turn unit on its back and and remove the base of the unit.

Jesper, The overheating and cavitation noises from the pump, are most likely "normal" a lack of water in the pump assembly does produce noise and possibly a odor from the heater. Your first choice is to replace the fill valve 00425458, based on your post description. Here's some "how to" help "To remove water valve:??Remove two (2) T-20 Torx screws from toe kick and tilt toe kick out from under dishwasher.??Remove base insulation (on models with insulation).??Move sump inlet hose away from water valve (without disconnecting it).??Disconnect wires from water valve, including ground wire.??Remove two (2) T-20 Torx screws from water valve.??Pull valve out from dishwasher and disconnect water hose from rear of valve. Remove any water from sump & base."

Tom, a low water level, can create the same issue, start the machine and allow it to fill and run for 3 to 5 minutes. open the door, and remove the lower rack, the water level in the base of the tub should cover all the upper openings of the filter basket 00615079 (at the least). If the water level is in range, then consider the circulation pump 00239144 it this stage, thats the best bet. As for water circulation affecting the dry cycle, Yes, that can occur, the rinse agent won't be dispensed or disbursed properly, the dishes won't clean properly and the dishes will not "warm" properly to aid in the drying process.

Mike for Model Number Bosch SHU9925UC /UC12

Hi, I have a Bosch SHU9925UC12 dishwasher. Water pumps in but the arms do not move. Water pumps out just fine. I took apart the plate and basket, vacuumed out the water, pulled the screw and vaccumed by the impeller (blue plastic) which turns freely. The port on the right is the circulation pump. I can turn it freely with my finger. I put the shop vac on exhaust mode and sealed it to the hole that would feed the arms. It blew air through the port on the right and caused the pump vanes to spin very quickly, no motor resistance. New circulation pump?

1 Answer

Hello Mike, I believe you are correct in the diagnosis of the circulation pump 00239144 as long as it is getting voltage. Replacing the pump won't fix it if it isn't getting voltage. I would make sure voltage is getting to it when it should be circulating and go from there.

Hello Keith, The unit should be filling to within an inch of the water touching the heating element. If it isn't, the water inlet valve 00425458 will require replacement. If it is, the pump needs to be opened from inside the unit to check for debris in the pump obstructing the impellers ability to circulate the water. The use of a shop vac is perfect for this after the cover held on by a single screw is removed.
