Periodically the stove will lose power when there has been no power interruption in the house. Sometimes the the power will be off for a minute or so, then the clock will start flashing. If a a burner or oven is being used, they will go off also. The oven will have to be reset. You also hear a buzzing/arching sound when this occurs. I think I need to replace the clock/timer electronic control, but would like your opinion before I spend over $165.00. Thank you.

Hello Wrngwae1, Before you replace anything you should check the electrical connections where the "pigtail" (range cord) connects to the terminal block. This is where most problems with a complaint of both the surface and the bake compartment originate. If it is good, check the plug for burned spots on the prongs. If there is a burned spot, you can sand the burn off but the receptacle will require replacement to prevent a fire hazard. Let us know if we can assist you further as I'm confident you will locate the issue. Anytime there is an audible sizzle, the problem can be seen and testing isn't necessary.

Broke1 for Model Number 790.95302102

I got this stove at a yardsale. Stove looks good. I hooked it up. One of the big burners does not work,Front right. And the display does not work. So I can not get the oven to work. I took the back off and all the wires looked ok. Its a Kenmore stove but the parts comming up on this site are for Frigidaire. After reading several questions and answers I think its the contronl panel. But how do you know for sure ? At $160 bucks I want to know for sure. Is there a way to reset the unit ? Or replace a fuse or something? That one big burner thats not working could it be because of the display does not work ? Who has the best prices on parts?

Broke1, There is no "reset" button or fuse to reset or replace. You can check for 120 VAC across the black and white wires going into the clock connector. If you have the voltage, you'll need a new ERC/Clock 316207522 . As for the burner not operating, and as long as you're in the control panel area for the clock. Check the burner infinite switch 316436000 foa closed circuits between the L1 and H1 terminals and the L2 and H2 terminals on the switch, with the switch knob turned on.No closed circuit would indicate a faulty switch. Here's some meter usage information if you need it [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Thanks and Good Luck

Hi Tony. You will need to use a volt/ohm meter to make sure you have 240 vac coming into the terminal block. You may have tripped a breaker half way only allowing 120 vac to the unit. All burners require 240 vac. You need this on the outer 2-legs of the terminal block. Then make sure you have 120 vac from each outer leg to the center white neutral leg. It has to be a wiring issue or a loose connection from the controls fed directly from the terminal block if the outlet and terminal block are OK. Your wiring diagram is behind the control panel or in the lower frame when you remove the storage drawer. Let me know how this turns out. Thank You.

Hi Drew. On the back of the control are the bake / broil relay. You should get 120vac out of the bake terminal as the heating is commanded. If not then replace the control part # 316207522. If you do then look at the L-2 at the terminal block and verify it is tight (as they all should be). The element should ohm out 28-38 ohms closed, not shorted or open. Part # 316202200. Thank You.

Richard, The hardest part is moving the range out away from the wall, so you can access the back. Here are some basic instructions: " To remove the electronic oven control: 1. Disconnect power from the range. 2. Remove the back panel from the backguard. 3. Disconnect the wires and harness from the control board. 4. Remove the four screws. (One from each corner) We're sure you'll do fine. Thanks and Good Luck
