Rob August 26, 2011 for Model Number frs26f4cb3 Water will not flow into the ice maker. I have detached the feed line from the back, when the unit calls for water, the water does flow. How can I tell if the fill tube is frozen, it does not appear so? Is there a separator door higher in the fill tube that cannot be reached? Would defrosting the freezer work?
1 Answer Hi Rob. The fill tube can be twisted sideways 30 degrees and pulled out. If so then thaw out under the sink. Then you will need a water valve part # is 242252702. This valve will be a reason for a frozen fill tube. If not, then you will need to replace the ice maker because it tells the valve when to turn on for water. The ice maker is part # 5304458371. Mike July 25, 2011 for Model Number PLHS269ZCB4 I've seen this posted a couple of times with other symptoms. The other symptom was diagnosed, but not this one. What causes the ice to get caught in the mold as the sweeper trys to clear it? This stops the maker from producing ice.
1 Answer Hello Mike. If the ice cubes are correct size, you will need to replace the icemaker 5304458371. If the ice cubes are small, you will need to replace the water valve 242252702. Hope this helps. Read More...

Robert C. May 16, 2011 for Model Number FRS23H5ASB8 My ice machine(5304458371)has stoped producing ice. I have changed the water filter and water valve, but it is still not making ice. I hear the water value trying to work, but still no ice. Water filter and value are both new at a cost of $130. I hate to just change parts and not get to the source of the problem. Help.
1 Answer Hello Robert. If you hear the valve coming on, but no water is being produced, you will need to check and make sure the water supply is turned on. If so, check the fill tube inside the freezer and make sure it is not frozen. If it is frozen, you will need to thaw it out. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Clif. Check and see if the fill tube is frozen, causing the water not to come into the icemaker. If so, you will need to clean it out and change the water valve 242252702. If it is clear, you will need to test and see if there is power coming to the icemaker when the icemaker is in harvest mode. If there is voltage there, but no water, you will need to replace the water valve. If there is no voltage there, you will need to replace the icemaker 5304458371. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
