Lee H D. November 09, 2020 I have ordered new infinite switches, twice, and all four have the knob shaft slightly shifted to such a degree the burner will not shut off??? The ones I replaced are perfectly horizontal??? The directions call for the use of an “insert” to align the off position. There is no such item in any of the switch packages?? Please advise
1 Answer Lee, We first need a model number for the range, so we can check and verify the correct parts are being ordered and installed. In most cases, if there were any wiring or other modifications to a component, there would be instructions and any additional parts needed in the packaging. Once we can get the model number and verify the correct parts ordered, we can go from there with other recommendations and suggestions. Thanks, Read More...
Rupert W October 03, 2018 for Model Number p cs968sp1ss The left hand control had started to fail and would not turn on except at level 8 (of 10) so I ordered a new control switch. Now that I have the switch out I notice that the new one (50.59079.042) is not an exact match for the old one, 50.55073.064. Specifically there is no terminal at S1 or S2 and so I will have one spare connection when I try to rewire (S1 being tethered to P2 on the original set up). If I wire in the new switch and leave the spare connection loose will that simply mean that the back middle element between the front and back ring will not heat?
1 Answer Rupert, According to the information that we could locate the correct switch for your unit would be part number WB24T10134. Read More...
Joe September 15, 2018 for Model Number GE JSP47BF2BB On the right front dual burner, the small, interior burner work at all temperature ranges from low to high, but the outside burner only comes on at around temperature setting 6 and works fine when set higher. Is this the symptom of a bad switch or element?
1 Answer Joe, No , in fact this appears to be a dual infinite switch and element that is working properly. At the lower temperature settings the "inner" element will come on and cycle, during the cooking process. When set at the higher temperature settings the large outer element will activate and both elements(inner and outer element rings) will cycle off and on during the cooking process. Read More...

Ying July 08, 2015 for Model Number JCBP800ST1SS The hot cooktop light indicator stays on and there is no heat on the front left burner( dual 9" 3000w element? I guess). I couldn't find the part# on the switch. I bought the range 2 years ago, the model is GE JCBP800ST1SS which is discontinued now. Which switch I should order? Thanks.
Person February 28, 2015 for Model Number WB24T10063 We just attempted to replace the infinite switch on our Hotpoint stove. As soon as we plugged in the range, the switch sparked and blew out. We followed the instructions accurately, as we had the old style infinite switch and everything was connected as it should have been. Do you have any idea why this would have happened?
1 Answer Hello Person. You wired the switch wrong. You should wire according to the markings and not the terminal location. Read More...

Tina June 18, 2014 for Model Number JB968SL1SS I have the hot cooktop light indicator that stays on all the time for my front right burner which can be a 6", 9", or 12". Do you know what part I need to get for the hot cooktop light to go off for this large burner in the front right corner? We have already replaced the control erc and that did not work. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Tina, This can only be caused by the infinite switch or the surface element limiter. Both of these part numbers will be determined by which surface element light is staying on. Also, the limiter is not available individually. It is a part of the element assembly. Read More...
Jim January 14, 2014 I just installed a new burner control that I received from you today. Now the burners will go on and off, but we can't control the actual temp, it just goes to high. I did install wrong or is something else wrong? I ordered the part because the small burner would not shutoff. Thanks for your help. Jim GE JB960A B1AA
1 Answer Hello Jim. You need to check the wiring of the switch and make sure it is correct on the unit. The switch controls the temp and if it stays on high, it may be wired wrong. Read More...
Alan September 16, 2013 for Model Number jbp79wob4ww I replaced my switch on my range with part number wb24t10063 and now the knob won't fit. The knob has the metal sleeve stuck in it do I take that out or do you have a knob that will fit the new switch
1 Answer Hello Alan. The metal spring inside the knob is suppose to be in the knob. It should fit the new switch just fine, but will be tight due to it being a spring. Read More...
