Hello. It will take about an hour for the water to cool off inside the unit. This is due to purging the air from the system.

Hello Chris, The filter could be defective or, if you have not run about 2 gallons of water through it as recommended by the manufacturer, it could be charcoal and air in the filter that has yet to be purged. Another consideration for the weak flow could be a failure of the valve in the filter head that the filter attaches to in the fresh food compartment.

Richard for Model Number GE Artica Profile

I replaced my GE Smartwater filter and now when getting water from the dispenser, water dribbles out after the dispenser lever clicks off and the cup is removed from the dispenser. Water flow is good. I then took out the new filter and put in the original filter and the water dribbling is the same. Before the change, the water would cease immediately after the dispenser lever clicked off. This happened immediately after replacing the filter. I flowed 1-2 gallons through each filter after changing. What did I do to mess this up?

Richard, With the dispenser having a dripping to it, it sounds like there may still be air in the lines. Try to run several gallons of water more through it and then if it continues to drip then you will want to replace the water valve as it is not closing all the way.

Hello Tiny, If you can hear sounds when trying to dispense water, the issue is most likely the water valve WR57X33326. If no sound is detected, the issue is likely to be a linkage or bracket in the dispense area of the door and will have to be checked for mechanical failures.

Walter, You will want to disconnect the tube at the bottom of the freezer door behind the kickplate, have a towel available for excess water. Put the unit dispenser on water setting and push the lever. If water comes from the tubing that comes from under the unit then the issue will be a frozen fill tube inside the freezer door. Unfortunately this water tube is not available separately, it is foamed into the door, and the door would need to be replaced. The cause of this would be a void in the insulation of the door combined with cold temperature in the freezer causes ice to build up around the fill tube and then causes the fill tube to freeze up.
