Lloyd September 12, 2021 for Model Number PFSS5RKZASS The ice maker makes ice but does not eject ice when you push the ice button unless I open the freezer door to the ice maker a little bit.
1 Answer Lloyd, Based on the information provided the first thing to check is the temperature at the ice maker assembly. The temperature at the ice maker should be less than 10°F to initiate a cycle. (The normal temps for the freezer/Icemaker area are 0° to 10°F) If the temperature is below the 10°F then the issue would be the icemaker. Read More...
Arthur August 28, 2021 for Model Number GSS25UFPAWW Patience please: Original problem waterline in the freezer has on occasion frozen. I do not use ice cube or crushed ice except on rare occasion and they worked. Always able to solve frozen line with hairdryer. Then recently developed defrost cycle going from 40 degrees to zero leaving everything caked in ice. With your help l was able to correctly diagnose, purchase “refrigerator defrost thermostat”, and”refrigerator temperature sensor”, and install same. This corrected my “everything caked in ice” problem. For several weeks everything was fine. The my old “no water dispensing” problem started but this time not a frozen water line. The diagnosis pointed to a “dispenser solenoid dispenser” which with your excellent videos l easily replaced. That not solve problem. Now diagnosis points to “dispenser switch”. Before l order and replace that switch — MY QUESTION what are the resistance measurements so l can see if that really is the problem before l spend another $50. I’m hesitant — 1. Waterline is not frozen and is delivering water with pressure to the waterline union. 2. When l press the water dispenser l can hear solenoid ?? working. YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE! Arthur
1 Answer Arthur, if water will reach the union at the door, the failure would either be a frozen water line or a pinched water line. Read More...
Dan August 19, 2021 for Model Number GSS25QGTACC Hello, our water and ice dispenser has been intermittently working. It used to work more, but now it is rare it will dispense water or ice. When the dispenser button is pressed and activated, the light above the water selection turns off and it makes a click sound twice with about a one second gap between clicks. If you continue to press and hold the dispenser button to activate, after the first set of clicks, about 3 seconds later a zero on the left side of temperature control panel will flash on and light above water will flash on at same time, and when they go out the clicks with a one second gap occurs again. This pattern just repeats with no dispensing, and sometimes rarely it will dispense. Also when it sounds like the fridge is running to drop temperature and you press the dispenser button it will stop the fridge from running and it makes the click sounds with one second gap. What faulty part or wires is causing this intermittent problem? Thank you for your time, and assistance!
1 Answer Dan, Based on the information provided check the connections to the dispenser assembly;y and also check the wires at the hinges for broken or shorted wiring, if wiring and connections are good it would likely be the dispenser board. Read More...
Joe February 15, 2021 for Model Number GE Ref. ZISB480DRS I just replace the Solenoid, the door and the spring on the ice dispenser on this Ref. The ice dispenser is working fine except the door remains open. It does not snap back to shut. I have to close it manually. Can you advise what could be the problem ?
1 Answer Joe, the door chute solenoid would need to be checked to identify if it is sticking in the down position. If it is not, the chute door spring would need to be checked to ensure that it is set properly as the tension from the spring is what allows the door to close properly. Read More...
Ragz January 19, 2021 for Model Number GSHS9NGYBCSS The Auger on my ice make is constantly running with the freezer door closed. When the door is open it stops. No issue with the water dispenser, it works normal. The only resolve was to disconnect power to the auger motor as a temporary fix. I think it is probably the dispenser switch or the control board on the front. I see you don't have the control board in stock but you do have the switch, hoping it is just the switch. Any suggestion on the part I need?
1 Answer Ragz, Based on the information provided it does indeed sound as if the switch would be the issue. Read More...
Chris November 08, 2020 for Model Number GSH25JSTESS The water suddenly stopped coming our of my dispenser. Ordered and replace water solenoid per this site. Making noise/working, but no water. Unhooked water line going into freezer, push water dispenser and water flowing to there? Cannot get to the backside of the water line/dispenser as the freezer panel is glued? Is this a switch/panel issue?
1 Answer Chris, as water is able to come through the line that connects to the door, the issue would be a frozen water line in the freezer door. The dispenser tube heater WR49X10173 can be used if the following criteria is met (All metal liner SxS production built January 2003 through January 2007 [serial numbers AF through AM]: Models BSS, DSS, ESH, GSH, GSS, GST, HSS, SSS). If the criteria is not met, then the freezer door WR78X11096 would need to be replaced to correct this issue. Read More...
Gordon Allison October 12, 2020 for Model Number PSS26SGRBSS Water will dispense but will not shut off, ice dispenses correctly. What cold be the problem?
1 Answer My best guess is that your water valve is sticking open, but it could be a relay on the control board. The best way to check is to see if there is voltage on the water valve solenoid when the water is continuing to run. If you have 120vac then the relay is bad, if no voltage is present then the water valve is bad. Read More...
Tom August 18, 2020 for Model Number ZISS360DRGSS Water is dripping from the bottom of the freezer door. The water line connector at the bottom of the door is not leaking. Can the water line to the dispenser in the door be replaced if it is leaking? Do you have a replacement water line and a video that shows how to replace it?
1 Answer Tom, unfortunately, the manufacturer does not show the water line in the door as being replaceable separately from the door assembly WR78X10883. However, it would be recommended that the freezer evaporator defrost drain is inspected for an ice blockage. If there is an ice blockage, the ice would need to be cleared. Read More...
Sandeep June 15, 2020 for Model Number PSS26NSTASS auger motor doesn't turn i put new one look like no power coming to motor
1 Answer Sandeep, Most likely the dispenser switch has failed. WR23X10783 This part can be tested for continuity and should change from open to closed with the press of the little red button on the switch. There is a great video showing the part replacement for this switch. Read More...
Delmar January 23, 2020 for Model Number ps123mgwabv water dispenser presumably froze up .i used hair dryer ad kept activating switch to clear line.after a while i developed two pinhole leaks in the tank.when i hit the water switch the last time the water shot out.turned off power&water& replaced tank.put in plug & or filter. lights are on on door. doesnt feel like micro is activating&no pump no ice &no led with pressure on dispenser switch.what happened?
1 Answer Delmar, are you sure you didn't leave the water supply turned off, and the filter is properly installed? Next check the wiring harness and connections at the freezer door hinge to make sure there aren't loose connections or damaged wires. The next check would be to check for the low VDC from the main control board into the dispenser control board and dispenser actuator, with a multimeter. But we will need a proper model number of your refrigerator to check and verify the proper circuits and connections to test. Read More...
