Slow but continual....Press actuator neither dispenses nor shuts off, just a steady continuous dribble-ice maker still dispenses ice. Do not own a multimeter how can i tell if it's the micro switch or water valve soleniod on the bottom in the back of the fridge?

Dennis October 08, 2016 for Model Number lss25xswss When I press in the flap to get ice or water it works fine but then when I move the cup it keeps dispensing water for like 10 seconds. Does it with the ice also. Do you think it is the dispenser switch or the solenoid?

Al September 27, 2016 for Model Number GSH25GGCBWW I'm getting water flow to the bottom of the freezer door but not out of the dispenser. Ice is dispensing properly. Have had freezer temp up to 5 degrees for a week to see if it was frozen line that would defrost. Suggestions?
1 Answer Al, If the serial number on your unit is Between AF and AM then you can install the GE dispenser water tube heater WR49X10173 to correct this issue. Z June 22, 2016 for Model Number GE PSHS6RGXC2SS Forenote: I have no issues with the ice maker/dispenser. When I use the water dispenser, it will intermittently stop dispensing (light stays lit). I release the lever and reengage and the water starts to flow again until I release the lever. Also, if the water is dispensing, the water will randomly, but rarely, run at full flow for a second after releasing the switch.

James Miles April 03, 2016 for Model Number PSC23NGMDBB I replaced the ice dispenser solenoid (purchased here). Easy and straight forward. My old one was frozen and rusted. The solenoid opens the ice door, but continously allows ice to run out. I tested the switch on the dispenser and it is OK. It acts like the spring does not have enough tension to close the door. Suggestions? Thanks!
1 Answer James, With the unit continuing to dispense ice after the cup has been pulled from the lever would normally be caused by a sticking switch or a control that is continuing to send power to the auger motor. Scott G March 21, 2016 for Model Number GE refrigerator model GSS-25-WGSA WW In-door water dispenser stopped dispensing halfway to filling a glass. Immediately tried ice dispenser -cubed and crushed - and found that it too is not dispensing. No sound other than the faint clicking of the dispenser switch can be heard when pressing against the dispenser arm. Light also does not come on. Ice maker is producing ice normally, water lines are working. Hoping it might be the dispenser switch and not the board ($$$). Just replaced the dispenser solenoid and flapper @ 5 wks. ago (parts ordered from you, thanks) and so I know wire connections are okay, been working fine until now. If dispenser switch is suspect, suggestions for best way to test for continuity would be appreciated. Thanx

1 Answer Mark, With an intermittent issue like this, the first thing that you should check would be the wiring harness at the bottom of the door. Joe December 07, 2015 for Model Number GSS25QSTASS Does not dispense water or ice through the door. The ice maker works, the push buttons are functional as far a lights come on. Adjusting temperature buttons work and adjust the temperatures properly. I push the water, button comes on, but will not dispense water, same thing for ice cube or crushed. There is not any noise trying to dispense either water or ice.
