Sharon November 25, 2015 GE Model number GSS25QSWSS makes ice but will not dispense to the dispenser on the door. Water has never dispensed but I know it's because it stays frozen. Just trying to figure out if it's the switch WR23X10783 or if it can be something else.
1 Answer Sharon, You will want to check the auger motor and see if there is power getting to the motor when the dispenser lever is pushed. If it is not then the issue would most likely be in the control board. If there is but is not turning then the issue will be with the auger motor. Read More...
Donald November 20, 2015 for Model Number ZISS480DMCS I have now come home to ice all over floor. I am pretty sure it is the switch. I watched the video on you site, but my unit does not have the "trim" like the white unit in video. How do I get this unit out????? There is a trim, but it is very thin and seems very tight. I can send a picture.
1 Answer Donald, If you grab the bottom of the display and pull out on it, it will mop free and there will be 4 screws behind it to remove to access the switch. Read More...
Sheryl November 12, 2015 for Model Number GSS20IEPJWW I am pretty sure all we need is the dispenser switch but I wanted to make sure. When we use the dispenser control panel, the water and crushed ice work, but the cube ice does not. won't even light up. Can you just please verify for me that this is the only part we will need to fix this problem. Thank you.
Manuel September 05, 2015 for Model Number GEW9200LW0 I have an Artic Profile GE and the water dispenser shoots and returns alone and does it until I have to turn off the faucet. I changed the solenoid and the cover with hook and continuous same.
1 Answer Hello Manuel, This sounds like you have a bad water valve. I'm sorry but you will have to provide the model number from the units' I.D. tag. The model number you provided is a valid model number for a Whirlpool Dryer. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Joe August 26, 2015 for Model Number HSM25GFRFSA Water and ice dispensor work for water and crushed ice only. When the cubed ice button is pressed you will still receive crushed ice. There are no ice jams and everything looks ok insed the ice bin. I thought it could be the dispensor switch but it seems this switch is only for dispensing water or ice and not for which type of ice is dispensed. Thanks for your help
1 Answer Hello Joe. You will need to check and see if the solenoid assembly WR62X23154 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tony August 25, 2015 for Model Number PCG23NHMFFBB The water dispenser light is increasingly automatically defaulting to ice, sometimes in the middle of dispensing water. Now this evening for a while we couldn't switch it back to water. After about 30mins we could switch back and got water dispensing. A few minutes later the green light automatically switched back to ice again. If we select any mode we get the correct dispensing but we cannot always switch from ice to any other mode the likely cause of this issue? Regards Tony
1 Answer Hello Tony. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the interface WR55X10239 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Doug June 08, 2015 for Model Number DSS25KGRBWW Water dispenser started to delay turning off when glass removed (about 1 second). This continued to be longer (about 10 seconds) but also intermittent (sometimes only 1 second and sometimes much longer delay). After a week of this symptom, the water stopped working completely and now does not dispense water at all. Should I replace the water valve or the micro switch? If I order both, can I return the part not needed for a refund? The ice maker and ice dispenser and crushed ice all still work fine. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Doug. Test the switch and see if it is good. Also, make sure the line is not frozen in the freezer door. If all is good, replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Cindy June 06, 2015 for Model Number GSH25JFRFBB We were having problems with a clicking sound, water/ice dispenser not working and refrigerator/freezer too warm. We changed the main control board and the door recess crank. Everything is working again but it is only dispensing crushed ice not cubes. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Cindy, You will want to check the crush/cube solenoid which is located next to the auger motor to make sure that it is not stuck in the up position and that it is not damaged. This will be the most likely cause for the issue. Read More...
Kelley May 16, 2015 for Model Number gss27rgpa ww The switch on the door lights up and operates from water, crushed ice, cubed ice. Water works but it will only depense crushed ice.any ideas
1 Answer Kelley, You will need to check the shifter arm on the side of the ice bin to make sure its installed properly and raises and closes the dispenser flapper door in the front bottom of the dispenser bin. Then you'll need to check the shifter solenoid WR62X23154 in the housing on the back wall of the dispenser assembly. When crushed ice is chosen, the solenoid remains inactive, the auger drives the cubes into the front of the bin. The cubes are driven through the chopper blades and the partially closed flapper door and get crushed. When cubed ice is chosen the solenoid activates moves the shifter arm up and the cubes drive forward. Because the bin flapper door is held open, the cubes fall into the front assembly and drop through the chopper blades and drop out of the dispenser as full cubes. If you remove the bin, tape or hold the freezer door light switch and select the cubed ice selection, you should be able to see and hear the solenoid activate and lift up, when the paddle is pressed. If the solenoid doesn't activate, you'll need to remove the cover assembly and disconnect the wires from the solenoid and check for a closed circuit across the terminals, then check for voltage across the wires when the paddle is pressed. If the voltage is present, then the solenoid has failed, if the voltage is absent, then you'll need to check the wiring and dispenser control board. Read More...
Nancy E. February 19, 2015 for Model Number gsh22jfxa cc GE side by side refrigerator - Water dispensor only does not work. Ice maker is working.
1 Answer Nancy, The dispenser actuator switch WR23X10783 is a very good possibility, but it's more likely to be a failed solenoid on the water valve WR57X33326 located on the back of the refrigerator. Read More...
