Rose October 25, 2019 for Model Number Lg front load washing machine Do all LG front load washers have a recirculating pump? My washer won’t drain. We had this problem before and a repair guy came out and replaced the drain pump. When it happened again we did some troubleshooting of our own and took the face off to make sure no drain hoses were clogged because we can hear the motor running just no water is coming out. Nothing was clogged but I did notice that on my assembly there is a filter hose connection drain hose connection and what looks like there should be a hose connected to it but nothing is there. Could a disconnected or missing hose from a recirculating pump be the cause of it not draining?
1 Answer Rose, not all units will have a recirculating pump. If an item gets stuck between the spin basket and the outer tub, it can get caught in the tub to pump hose where water drains through. This would need to be inspected as well as inside of the drain pump housing where the impeller is. If these are clear, then it is possible that there may be a clog in the drain hose going from the drain pump housing to the standpipe in the wall. If an item did pass through the housing and past the coin catch filter, it is possible that it could have damaged the drain pump impeller and this would need to be inspected as well. Read More...
James October 11, 2019 for Model Number WM2032HW Will a bad circulation pump on an LG washer cause an LE Code.
1 Answer Hello James, The circulation pump cannot cause the LE code. This is caused by the RPS, (rotor position sensor) 6501KW2002B or the harness to it. It is also possible to be caused by a bad control board 6871ER1023R. Read More...
David W. May 24, 2019 for Model Number Kenmore Elite 796.4102 I have confirmed that my washer is sending 120 volts to my drain pump. Also I have tested the motor by hardwiring it to a wall outlet which runs fine. I am confused as to what to test next as we have installed a new drain hose yesterday. Is there a way I should test the rpm of the drain motor?
1 Answer David, you'll want to make sure the impeller on the pump isn't damaged or stripped causing it not to move water. Read More...
Mary September 24, 2018 for Model Number Eau61383506 I am not sure where the blue and black wire go on my circulation pump. Do you have a diagram or something to show me which one goes where. One slot is horizontal and one is vertical please help ??
1 Answer Mary, Unfortunately, No we don't have a diagram, but it wouldn't matter very much where the wires are attached, this is a 120 VAC motor and will only run in one direction, If you look closely at the housing, at the terminals, the Blue wire will attach to the terminal labeled N, and the Black wire will attach to the terminal labeled L. Stephanie August 20, 2018 for Model Number WM3997HWA I purchased a new drain pump and circulation motor. I the process of replacing the circulation motor I broke the casing. Would it be an issue if I install it without the casing. Thank you
1 Answer Stephanie, If you decide to try to install the part just make sure you have no leaking after it fills with water and no wires touching each other. Read More...
Hackmonkey August 07, 2018 for Model Number WM2801HLA My LG washer is not draining and making an awful sounds later in cycle. I put washer in test mode and ran through the 10 cycles. The noise is associated to drain (I believe). I dismantled the front and removed the pump assembly however, there are (2) pumps attached to the unit. Right and Left of the Filter portal. Which is the circulatory pump and which is the drain pump? And which model pumps do I need? Which should I start replacing first? Thank you in advance.
1 Answer Hackmonkey, here is the part number for the drain pump,[4681EA2001T], it will be the pump on the left, it will have a drain hose attached to it that runs out to your house drain standpipe. Read More...
Ej May 27, 2018 for Model Number WM3477HW I need some serious advice. I replaced the motor pump on an LG WM3477HW and the washer/dryer combo actually worked for one cycle. I'm worried I may have forgotten to turn the power completely off on the unit when I worked on it because, besides being dangerous, now after one cycle, it won't even power on. Not sure why it worked only for one cycle and then gave up the ghost. I've tried: 1) Unplugging, pressing power for 5 seconds, start for 5 seconds, and plugging back in. Tried this MANY times and occasionally there was a spark when I plugged it back in. Didn't work. 2) replaced the panel circuitry. Didn't work 3) replaced the lock mechanism. Didn't work About to try: 4) replacing the power cord. Even though I don't think that's the issue. 5) replacing the motor again 6) last hope - replacing recirculation pump motor and then I'm out of ideas. Help!
1 Answer EJ, If the unit is not powering on at all then try to check to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the main control board and if there is then the main board will most likely be the issue. If the unit is powering on and no power to the pump then the main control would also most likely be the cause with a new pump in place. Read More...
Nick January 21, 2018 for Model Number WM0642HW My washer sometimes does not drain or stops mid cycle. It also occasionaly show 0E code. I cleaned drain pump and filter and all hoses are not clogged. Does this units drain pump operate as a recirculation pump as well? Could this be the issue?
1 Answer Nick, The recirculation pump will not work as a drain pump and the most likely cause would be the drain pump. You will want to test to see if the drain pump is getting 120 vac to it and if it is then this will be a faulty pump assembly. Read More...
Bev November 20, 2017 for Model Number WM8000HVA Hi, I was wondering if model WM8000HVA, front load washer, has both a circulation pump and a drain pump? Can you also, provide the parts numbers, please. Thanks, Bev
Ralph June 13, 2017 for Model Number WM8000HVA The drain pump that has two small hoses going to what looks like circulation back to the tub has a shaft and gasket that rotted would that keep the drain pump from evacuating the water and what is the part #
1 Answer Ralph, The gasket could play an effect in the draining but is not available as a separate part and would have to get the pump. Read More...
