The Washer Circulation Pump Motor is an OEM replacement part for LG washing machines. It is a vital component responsible for circulating and pumping water through the wash tub during the various wash and rinse cycles.

Symptoms of a faulty circulation pump motor include:

  • Improper water circulation or agitation during wash cycles
  • Failure to drain or drain slowly after wash cycles
  • Abnormal noises or vibrations coming from the pump area

Causes of a bad circulation pump motor can range from normal wear and tear over time, electrical malfunctions, blockages or obstructions in the pump impeller, or physical damage from foreign objects or debris.

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore washing machine models.

Rose for Model Number Lg front load washing machine

Do all LG front load washers have a recirculating pump? My washer won’t drain. We had this problem before and a repair guy came out and replaced the drain pump. When it happened again we did some troubleshooting of our own and took the face off to make sure no drain hoses were clogged because we can hear the motor running just no water is coming out. Nothing was clogged but I did notice that on my assembly there is a filter hose connection drain hose connection and what looks like there should be a hose connected to it but nothing is there. Could a disconnected or missing hose from a recirculating pump be the cause of it not draining?

Rose, not all units will have a recirculating pump. If an item gets stuck between the spin basket and the outer tub, it can get caught in the tub to pump hose where water drains through. This would need to be inspected as well as inside of the drain pump housing where the impeller is. If these are clear, then it is possible that there may be a clog in the drain hose going from the drain pump housing to the standpipe in the wall. If an item did pass through the housing and past the coin catch filter, it is possible that it could have damaged the drain pump impeller and this would need to be inspected as well.

Hello James, The circulation pump cannot cause the LE code. This is caused by the RPS, (rotor position sensor) 6501KW2002B or the harness to it. It is also possible to be caused by a bad control board 6871ER1023R.

David, you'll want to make sure the impeller on the pump isn't damaged or stripped causing it not to move water.

Mary, Unfortunately, No we don't have a diagram, but it wouldn't matter very much where the wires are attached, this is a 120 VAC motor and will only run in one direction, If you look closely at the housing, at the terminals, the Blue wire will attach to the terminal labeled N, and the Black wire will attach to the terminal labeled L.

Stephanie, If you decide to try to install the part just make sure you have no leaking after it fills with water and no wires touching each other.

Hackmonkey for Model Number WM2801HLA

My LG washer is not draining and making an awful sounds later in cycle. I put washer in test mode and ran through the 10 cycles. The noise is associated to drain (I believe). I dismantled the front and removed the pump assembly however, there are (2) pumps attached to the unit. Right and Left of the Filter portal. Which is the circulatory pump and which is the drain pump? And which model pumps do I need? Which should I start replacing first? Thank you in advance.

Hackmonkey, here is the part number for the drain pump,[4681EA2001T], it will be the pump on the left, it will have a drain hose attached to it that runs out to your house drain standpipe.

Ej for Model Number WM3477HW

I need some serious advice. I replaced the motor pump on an LG WM3477HW and the washer/dryer combo actually worked for one cycle. I'm worried I may have forgotten to turn the power completely off on the unit when I worked on it because, besides being dangerous, now after one cycle, it won't even power on. Not sure why it worked only for one cycle and then gave up the ghost. I've tried: 1) Unplugging, pressing power for 5 seconds, start for 5 seconds, and plugging back in. Tried this MANY times and occasionally there was a spark when I plugged it back in. Didn't work. 2) replaced the panel circuitry. Didn't work 3) replaced the lock mechanism. Didn't work About to try: 4) replacing the power cord. Even though I don't think that's the issue. 5) replacing the motor again 6) last hope - replacing recirculation pump motor and then I'm out of ideas. Help!

EJ, If the unit is not powering on at all then try to check to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the main control board and if there is then the main board will most likely be the issue. If the unit is powering on and no power to the pump then the main control would also most likely be the cause with a new pump in place.

Nick, The recirculation pump will not work as a drain pump and the most likely cause would be the drain pump. You will want to test to see if the drain pump is getting 120 vac to it and if it is then this will be a faulty pump assembly.

Ralph, The gasket could play an effect in the draining but is not available as a separate part and would have to get the pump.
