Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly (Part Number: OEM16955274)

1 Answer

SK, it would be recommended that the ice maker fill tube is inspected to identify if it is blocked up from ice. If there is an ice block, the fill tube heater DA47-00192E would need to be tested for resistance and should measure 102O. If the resistance is not the proper resistance, the heater has failed and would need to be replaced.

John, If this is the freezer icemaker that is clumping together then it may be that it is not being used as often as the refrigerator icemaker and when it goes into defrost multiple times it will cause the ice to get water and melt together. Also, check to make sure that the tray is not leaking as this could be another factor in the ice clumping together. If it is like a solid brick of ice then it would likely be that the water valve is not shutting off or the icemaker is sticking during fill cause the icemaker to overfill.

Shelley for Model Number RF260BEAESR/AA-0001

At first I couldn't get the ice maker to work, then all of the sudden 1 day later it spits out 5 cubes of ice. In 15 hours, it has maybe produces 30 cubes. The refrigerator does make a loud hum noise, it stops when I open freezer but starts again when closed. What could be wrong if anything, I would think I would have more ice than I do. When I turn off the icemaker, the hum is still there. I'm calling HD today but thought I would also ask the question - Help!

1 Answer

Shelley, Based on the information provided the hum is likely from the evaporator or ice fan. The ice maker seems to be working but you may have a temperature issue based on the airflow issue from one of the fans.
