Brian for Model Number Samsung RFG296HDRS Lower Ice Maker in the freezer drawer, DA97-07603A/B fills with water but then dumps before the water freezes. When I pressed the test button, the ice maker ran through its dump and fill cycle, but within 10 seconds it ran another dump cycle, refilled, and then ran a 3rd dump and fill cycle. There appears to be a sensor in the ice maker at the front of the tray. Would a bad sensor cause this behavior? The sensor wiring appears to go into the refrigerator vs the ice maker itself. Would this issue be caused by a bad sensor or is something wrong with the control board on my refrigerator? Would hate to replace the ice maker for $100 and still have an issue with it dumping water. I have not been able to find a part for just the temp sensor and it is wired directly into the ice maker connection to the refrigerator, so it would have to be spliced in from what I can see. Appreciate any support.
Answer Brian, This issue would be caused by a faulty thermistor on the icemaker in which you would need to replace the icemaker assembly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 22, 2021
