John for Model Number RF197ACRS/XAA The ice maker works but the ice freezing and clumping all together. I am not sure if maybe too much water is being fed into the tray or not. I have seen where it is suggested the freezer has too much moister in it from a defective door gasket or it is defrosting too often.
Answer John, If this is the freezer icemaker that is clumping together then it may be that it is not being used as often as the refrigerator icemaker and when it goes into defrost multiple times it will cause the ice to get water and melt together. Also, check to make sure that the tray is not leaking as this could be another factor in the ice clumping together. If it is like a solid brick of ice then it would likely be that the water valve is not shutting off or the icemaker is sticking during fill cause the icemaker to overfill. Read More...
