For Samsung Icemaker Head (Part Number: OEM12503670)

Robert K for Model Number RF24FSEDBSR/AA-0000

My ice maker makes ice, though lately the ice is wet and slushy like it's not cold enough in the bin area to keep it frozen. There is also water that drips out of the dispenser after getting ice from the door dispensor. A few weeks back the refridgerator was making a noise like a fan was hitting something as it was on. The noise stopped when we opened any of the doors but started again when the doors closed. The noise is gone but now I have slushy and wet ice. What is the problem?

Hello Robert. You need to check and see if the flap is closing in the unit. If not, you will need to order and replace the ice guide DA97-13829C in the unit.

The icemaker will not fill with water. Have already tried the reset procedure, making sure the 'ice off' icon is not illuminated, made sure the ice tray flips over and the ice level arm drops down with the reset procedure, the freezer temp is correct, etc. I am getting water through the water dispenser, which is located in the refrigerator. I read that the icemaker sends a signal to the water fill valve to refill the ice tray. I also saw Samsung offers an icemaker 'head' (others call it an icemaker control module); it appears this module is included within the icemaker assembly itself. If it is included with the icemaker assembly, should I order the entire assembly, or is it a lot cheaper to just buy the control module?

Brad, If the icemaker is cycling but not filling with water then the issue would be more likely a faulty water valve. The water valve has 2 solenoids on it and one goes to the dispenser and one to the icemaker.

C-fan is condenser fan. You need to clean the coils and see if the fan is running. If not, you will need to replace the condenser fan in the unit. The fan motor is discontinued DA31-10110G. For the icemaker error, you will need to replace the icemaker head DA97-00258E on the unit.

Laila, In most cases when the icemaker is leaking and causing the bin to freeze up then the icemaker tray is warped and would need to be replaced. The part number for the tray is DA63-02284B.

Hello Kelley. Yes, you will need to replace the icemaker assembly in the unit. If the icemaker is overfilling, replace the water valve on the unit as well.

Hello Paul, You will need to replace the water inlet valve DA82-02869A. The unit basically fills on a time basis. It is opened for about 7 seconds and during that time, full water pressure from the home water supply is released into the icemaker. If the valve is sticking, it will stay open too long and overfill.
