Robert, You will want to check to make sure that the power cord was not damaged. Also check to make sure that the control board is getting power and check to make sure that the control board is getting power to it. This would most likely be an issue with the control board on this unit.

Samsung RFG297ABWP/XAA: freezer not cooling enough. Only goes to 20+/- 5F. The display shows it does go to selected temp of -8F after running for up to 12 hours . Actual temp only 20F. (indication starts, out after unplugging at around 40-45F) I checked all sensors and they read within limits except the Refrigerator defrost sensor. The temp in the fridge is approx 41F. The sensor reads 1492 ohms. ( Fridge sensor= 1148 & Pantry is 10.92F. Is it possible this fridge defrost sensor reading too low could cause the problem (IE: sending the fridge into defrost mode while the freezer is trying to cool? Thanks, Kurt

Kurt, The refrigerator sensor would not cause the issue with the freezer as they have 2 different evaporators. You will want to check the freezer evaporator for a frost pattern. There should be a even frost pattern top to bottom and if there is not then this would be a issue with the sealed system. If the frost pattern is overly heavy then this will be an issue with the defrost circuit on the freezer side. Check the sensors, defrost heater and defrost thermostat and if they check ok then the main board will be done.

James, The icemaker operates based on the temp in order to cycle the fingers. It sounds like this may be an issue with the heater and would most likely be a control board issue with the icemaker having been replaced.

Hello Fred, You will need to run the Self Diagnosis: Press the Pwr Freeze—Pwr Cool buttons simultaneously for 8-12 seconds (No sound when both buttons are pressed at the same time) until the display quits blinking. Release the buttons and read Fault Codes. This will also cancel the Fault Mode created by self-diagnosis at power up so you should be prepared to write down all fault codes during this procedure. This will allow you to perform a proper diagnosis of the unit.

Ian, At room Temp. (77 F.) the sensor resistance should be 5K ohms, at freezing(32 F.) 1.3K ohms resistance, and at 0 dgrs.F. 3K ohms resistance. You may want to recheck you'r meter settings and the connector for corrosion moisture etc.

Hello Erin. If the fresh food is good, but the freezer is not, it sounds like you have a sealed system failure and will need an HVAC tech to come out and repair the unit.

Pooling water /freezing water under deli drawer I have tried to fix this two times now, The drain line freezes up and the water backs up into the fridge. I added a piece of 12ga copper wire hanging off the defrost element that goes down in the drain hole about 5 inches or so. It still hasn't really helped. Seems to work ok after I thaw out the drain line , for about 2-3 weeks then starts pooling water again. Research shows this is a big problem with Samsung refrigerators, We bought this about 5 yrs ago and have been having this ongoing issue for the last 2 years,

Chip, If the wire is not helping to keep the drain from freezing then it sounds like the issue may be that the units compressor is coming on before the completion of the defrost cycle causing the water to freeze. This would be caused by a faulty control board on the unit.

Hello Syl. You will need to remove the back wall inside the unit and the thermistor is located behind it. Sometimes they are taped in and have to have the tape removed to replace them.

Marvin, This issue would most likely be cause by a faulty display board which is part number DA97-07286K. Unfortunately the display has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available.
