Ben December 03, 2011 for Model Number GJSP82902 First, thanks for first reply (friday). I tested the sensor. At room temp I read 1.077 Ohms. I preset oven at 350, real temp was 220 and sensor was at 1.712 Ohms. After, I preset the oven at 450, real temp was 350 and sensor was at 1.766 Ohms. All readings were reads after disconnect sensor switch (hope tha t was the good way for testing...) Do I need to change the sensor or it could be another problem ?
1 Answer Hello Ben. Based on the information you provided, the sensor is fine, and the timer 9754260 is bad. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Thanks. Read More...
Ben December 02, 2011 for Model Number GJSP84902 Hi. Actually I program the Oven to a preset heating and when I verify (with manual thermometer) the temperature is not at the preset heat Ex: 250 is really 160...400 is really 340...450 is really 350 and for all theses temp. the heating time cycle stops to confirm that the oven is ready. Only when I preset 500 the oven continue to heat but the temp not up more than 400. Is it the sensor ?
1 Answer Hello Ben. Test the sensor WP9782081 and see if it is bad. It should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature and around 1650 ohms at 350°. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Lloyd October 09, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool Range GLP85900 I changed the oven sensor as the ohm readings were all over the place. With the new sensor installed I turned the oven onto bake to start the bake cycle, the timer shows a count down of 5mins 15 seconds, after the time is counted down the oven is only about 100 degrees F. It took almost a full hour for the oven to heat up to 350 degrees F. The oven can be heard to cycle off and on with both the old sensore and the new replacement sensor. What should I check next or what needs to be replaced, the stove was purchased new in 2003?
1 Answer Hello Lloyd. Based on the information you provided, you will need to check and see if the bake element WP9752294 is good. It should read closed for continuity. If it is bad, it can cause the problems your having. Hope this helps. Read More...
David September 30, 2011 for Model Number GR450LXHQ2 What shoud the resistence reading on the oven sensor when the oven is off? Thanks for all your assistance! David
1 Answer Hello David. The sensor WP9782081 should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps. Read More...
David September 30, 2011 for Model Number GR450LXHQ2 Our oven does not reach the pre set temperture during the pre heat cycle. It will eventually reach the desired temperture but only after some time beyond the pre heat time. I adjusted the calibration beacuse the actually temperture reading was 25 degrees lower when compared against an actual over thermometer. If this a sign of a bad over sensor?
1 Answer Hello David. If the preheat goes off and the oven temperature is not correct. You may have a bad sensor WP9782081. It should read around 1650 ohms at 350°. If you set it for 350° and the pre heat shuts off at 250°, test the sensor and see if it is around 1650 ohms. If so, replace the sensor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Donnie August 08, 2011 for Model Number KESC307HBS8 THANKS for responding to my earlier question. All the top burners work fine, the convection fan works fine. When the oven is turned on, I don't get an F3 code, or any other problem code. The digital temperature display reads "LO" and the elements never get hot, not even warm. The thermostat was my first guess, however the parts list on the oven does not show a thermostat, where is it located?
1 Answer Donnie, You don't have a thermostat, you have an electronic range control (ERC), it consists of a display/control board and a separate power relay board WP9782455 and WP9782437. You will need to remove the control panel to access and check both components. You may want to remove the broil element in the oven and check voltage with a meter, and trace the lost voltage back to the control or wiring. Thanks and Good Luck. Read More...
Donnie August 06, 2011 for Model Number KESC307HBS8 The bake, broil and convection elements in my oven will not heat up. Could a bad temperature sensor probe be the problem? If not what might cause all three to stop heating up?
1 Answer Hi Donnie. If your controls are bringing up a F-3 then you will need a oven senser part # WP9782081. There is a oven thermostat part # WP9759944, that will prevent you from heating. Are the top burners working well? Thank you. Read More...
