This is an electronic clock control board that is made for use with ovens and microwave/oven combination appliances. It is located at the back middle of the range and includes a small display window. The control panel is used to manage the oven functions like baking and broiling. It also includes a clock to show the time of day.If the oven cannot be changed from bake to broil, it may indicate the part is no longer working. A test of the heating elements can determine whether this is the case. Before starting the replacement process, make sure the range is not plugged into the wall and the oven and cooktop are both cool. Open the oven door to access the screws that hold the control board. Unclip the ribbon connection before removing the part. Reverse the process to install the new part. The electronic clock control board is sold as a single part. It is an authentic OEM replacement part that is compatible with wall ovens and microwave/oven combos from Jenn Air.

Ralph for Model Number JMW8530AAB Serial #12023958YK

The control display has been out for some time but the oven still works. I have noticed that the fan doesn't ever come on and i don't know if it ever has. Before i replace the control display, how do i check the operation of the fan, can it be wired to 120v direct to see if it works? i suspect the inop fan allowed the display to overheat. Also when using the oven on 400 recently i got a warning bell until the breaker was tripped and the temp went down.

Answer

Ralph, to check for the display circuit, you will need to remove the control panel and access the back of the clock/erc and unplug the J1 connector( four wire/pin connector at the side of the clock back. Turn the power back on and with a multimeter check for 12 volts dc from pin 1 to pin 2 and 20 vac from pin 3 to pin 4 of the wire connector, no voltage on either test would indicate a bad main relay board 74006613 or broken wire in the wiring harness 71003404 if you have the voltage then you'd replace the ERC/Clock WP71003424. as for the cooling fan, it is controlled through the resistance of the oven temperature probe and only after a speific amount of time. actually the cooling fan seldom turns on except under extended cooking period and a higher temperatures. but yes you could attach a 120 VAC test cord to the motor terminals and test the motor for run, if you wish. But please be careful, don't shock yourself or short out anything. Good Luck and Thanks
