Jen April 16, 2022 for Model Number LSQ9010LW0 Hi, like a few other customers I have the cam out to replace the dog and my cam/dogs will not fall out or budge at all. I have the short cam whirpool. Is there anything else that would be holding them in? The entire piece will not dislodge from the middle of the agitator beneath the fabric softener, even with the bolt out and the agitator complete removed from the washer. I've even tried pliers and there is no give. Thanks.

Rick April 25, 2015 for Model Number wtw5100vq2 Fills, drains and agitates but one half of the agitation rotation is really noisy. Disassembled to tranny and don't see anything stripped or broken. Agitator internal splines and mate splines on tranny output shaft good. Ratchet dogs top half agitator OK. Motor coupling parts intact. Ran machine with low water level and no clothes. loud metallic sound in half motion of agitator. trans failing under load? 5 years old...3 member household.
1 Answer Rick, It does sound like the gearcase 3360629 has a problem. Especially if you ran the washer with little to no stress on the drive system. You may want to remove the gearcase dismantle the top portion of the shaft and cover and check the agitate shaft and gear, and the rack and shift actuator for excess wear or alignment. I was looking at item 285574 but am not sure if the dogs come in it or not. Also does it contain the hold down bolt and top caps?
