The touch screen on the stove only allows me to use these temp settings, no other touch controls appear to work? I have had this problem before and they replaced what I think is control board ? Could you tell me what you think it might be and what parts, costs to fix. Can you tell me why you think this continues to happen? Thank you Karen
1 Answer Hello Karen. It sounds like the control panel WPW10206089 is bad. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Paul M June 04, 2013 for Model Number JDS8850BDS The four lower left functions of the control pad quit working. Does the function pad assmbly need to be replace or the electronic controller? We have had the controler replaced already is it possible that it has quit again?
1 Answer Paul, You will want to disconnect power to the unit and access the control board. Once you have access to the control board, disconnect the ribbon harness for the keypad and check to make sure that there is no corrosion on the harness or connector. If corrosion or build up then clean with a electrical cleaner. If it checks ok then reseat the ribbon harness and make sure that it has a good firm connection. Mark May 04, 2012 for Model Number Jds8850bds I had the main control panel (8507p230-60) replaced by an appliance repair company and the key board that works the numbers still doesn't work. A few # work but most don't. I was told it was the key pad now. This sounds logical but more money to spend! Can you advise me on the proper part to purchase? Thank you, Mark B.
1 Answer Hello Mark. It does sound as if the ribbob cable on the back of the control panel is shorting out and needs to be replaced.
