Robert June 26, 2013 for Model Number kenmore My washer works well, but I turn it and it fills with water and runs cylce then I have to bump the switch to get it to continue on to next cycle, what might be bad ?
1 Answer Hello Robert. It sounds like the timer is the issue. If there is power to the timer motor, and the timer does not advance, the timer needs to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Jeanine May 18, 2013 for Model Number RTW440XQ0 serial# c20440891 While washing a load of towels the agitator stopped and the water won't drain. Is there a reset button / switch somewhere? Does it sound like the motor burned out?
1 Answer Hello Jeanine. You need to check and see if the lid switch is broke on the unit and needs to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Aaron February 06, 2013 for Model Number RTW4440XQ0 Roper washer. The washer is not letting enought hot water into the basin. It lets a little amount of hot water in but it also lets in about twice as much cold water. I checked the hoses and switched them around and the opposite happened. I was thinking it was probably the valves or the atc switch?
1 Answer Hello Aaron. This is the way this model is designed to do. It has a thermistor built into the water valve WPW10144820. Read More...
Phil S November 26, 2012 for Model Number 4755AWW I have two questions please... first. My admiral washing machine only works on regular and only partly works on perm/gentle. and not at all on Gentle and blows the circuit on hand wash.. is this problem isolated to the selector alone and can this part be purchased? Secondly, my ATC seems to be having issues.. on warm it fills only hot and does not work on the other two settings.. however on the regular temp settings it seems to fill in the propper temps.
1 Answer Phil, A complete and proper model number would be a big help, But, the ATC switch WPW10184148 does control the water temperature, and the water temperature issue is most likely due to a fault in the switch assembly. Blowing the circuit breaker is the harder issue. Since it only occurrs on the hand wash setting, it could be a faulty contact in the timer, or a shorted wire in the harness, but it would have to be a wire specific to the hand wash selection. Travis October 24, 2012 for Model Number RTW440XQ0 i have replaced the atc switch and the water valve and i still can not get hot water to fill. I have volatage coming out of the atc switch to all the pins when I have it unpluged from the water valve conector but when I plug it into the water valves i lose volate to the hot water valve pins when it selecting hot water and I continue to have full 120 volts on the cold valve in any of the water temp. setting.
1 Answer Hello Travis. You need to check and make sure the hot water works unhooked from the valve as well. If there is not power, and the switch and valve are new, it sounds like the wiring harness is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Rick May 10, 2012 for Model Number 11029522801 Before I had no water to machine so I changed the atc. Now all I have is very hot water.
1 Answer Hello Rick. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve WPW10144820 is bad and will need to be replaced. If only the hot works and not the cold, and the temperature switch is new, the valve will need to be replaced. Read More...
Rick May 07, 2012 for Model Number 11029522801 the washer wont let water in on hot or cold i have hot and cold water pressure at both valves but when you set timer to wash nothing works
1 Answer Rick, Great job, You're on target, the ATC switch controls which valve to open based on the water temp. selected, When it fails, it will not activate the fill valve solenoids and the washer won't fill. Replacing the switch WPW10184148 should solve the issue. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Jesse V. April 25, 2012 for Model Number mvwc300vwi Water on cold selecton not filling works only warm or hot selection.
1 Answer Hello Jesse. You will need to test and see if there is power coming to the cold water valve when the unit is calling for cold water. If so, and no water come into the unit, you will need to replace the water valve WPW10144820. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Vik February 25, 2012 for Model Number atw4475vq0 I have an Admiral washer. It wasnt all the way when it hit to raince cicle it stopt and nat working now i tryde to restart but nathing i pull the knob for cicle it maks noise this is it no smoke every thing looks good
1 Answer Hi Vik. Usually when the washer fills washes then stops at rinse, it is waiting for the cold fill from the water valve part # WPW10144820. Remove the cold fill hose and flush out into a bucket. Look into the valve inlet screen to see if it is clogged w/ debris's blocking the old water entry. Some units will wash with the lid up but will stop at the rinse cycle because the lid switch part # WP8318084 needs replaced. Thank You. Read More...
