Manufacturer Part Number: WP27001007

The Drive Belt is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool brand clothes washers. It connects the transmission pulley to the drive motor pulley, transferring power to turn the wash basket.  This belt measures approximately 30 1/4 inches.

Causes of a problematic belt include cracks and breaks from prolonged cyclic loads. Lint or debris lodged in the belt can damage it prematurely as well.

Symptoms of a faulty drive belt include:

  • The wash basin fails to agitate or spin clothes
  • Loud squealing sounds occur during use

Compatible models include some brands produced by KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, and Kenmore as well.

Willy L. for Model Number LWS17BWK - series: R0009020241

Your Q&A forum and testimonials are very helpful ! We have a "KOBLENZ"-"Ultraclean"- 10kg. capacity LWS17BWK model. This is a mexican-bought product with their 'make name' tagged on an american machine, basically Whirlpool (Speed Queen, Maytag) top load type. It's 1/2 hp motor model is; S67PXKEK-7683. It was stored new for a few years, and when we finally got reliable electrical service in our very rural community, it was put to good use and functioned well until the orig. belt broke and idler pulley actually separated at its center bearing, from then chipped-up plastic roller. I believe that overloading may have lead to this, The machine was in disuse for some time until I procured a new idler-tension pulley and belt, installed them successfully only to have the same happen again. Same busted-up belt and separated idler pulley. I did seem to notice after first repair, that when the transmission would reverse, to go into 'spin-cycle', which is when the idler pulley seems to do it's thing, that spin start-up was quite slow and seemed strained, and the motor would smell and get hot. Eventually it would spin, but I was never sure if the motor should feel so hot and give-off that 'electrical' smell. Not good, right?? Well, to shorten this, the second replacement belt I put on, also got shredded, damaged, as the pulley separated again. There is a notable bearing noise when it was spinning, can you give me some of your expert advise ? Which are the proper belt and pulley replacements for this machine? I bet I have to replace the bearing(s) ? also. I do believe that the original belt says Goodyear- RSPC 37820. and the pulley I've used. an AP4036090, speed queen and whirlpool parts respectively. O.K. I've told far too much, sorry. I'll await your response, thanks so much..... sincerely, traumatized and soon to be banished by wife, washing machine owner. W.L.

Answer

Hello Willy. WP27001007 is the belt you need for the unit. You do need to order and replace the bearings in the unit as well. If not, the issue will continue.
