Hello Blake, the interior lights and display all run of the low voltage board. The issue you are describing is more than likely caused by the high voltage board part number WPW10310240. Hope this helps!

Robert for Model Number MFI2569VEM1

This model number is for a Maytag French door bottom freezer unit. My problem is that the ice dispensing worm drive motor does not stop when you are finished and will spew ice all over the floor. Similarly to other posts here, sometimes the motor will energize on its own, overfilling the "chute". The entire "chute" assembly was replaced and it did not correct the problem. Next, the main circuit board on the rear was replaced, twice, 28th separate replacement boards. Each replacement resulted in the same condition. The front control board displayed "PE0000. Nothing would function on the door control panel to allow the required programming which for my unit is code 2020. Ice reinserted my original board and all functions are back to normal except the malfunction as noted. What's my problem? Thanks

1 Answer

Hello Robert, This is normally caused by a sticking switch on the chute assembly WP13005705. If this does not correct the issue, I would recommend checking the wiring harness where it passes through the door hinge for a possible shorted harness.

Jerry, You will want to check the door switch on the unit just to make sure that it is good because if the switch goes bad it would cause the dispenser to not work. If this checks ok then this will likely be the dispenser low voltage board that is causing the issue.

Brian for Model Number 59677539600

Our Kenmore fridge is 11 years old. All of a sudden today the ice door started to flap open then closed every 5 seconds or so and the front display was flashing and the ice and water functions did not work. I Googled the issue and found that the likely cause was a faulty control board. I removed the front panel and disconnected the 3-prong connector which stopped the ice door from flapping. My question is: Which control board do I need to replace the main board #67006294 or the button control board #W10740217? It looks like they are relatively to replace without the help of a tecnician.

1 Answer

Bill, First check should be a the wiring harness connectors at the LV control board, left door hinge connector and the main/Hi vac board on the back. Being a 12 volt low voltage circuit(s) it doesn't take a lot to disrupt the circuits. when you're checking the wires especially at the connectors, carefully twist, push and pull on the wires as close to the housing as possible, There should be little to no movement in the wires, if there is then the internal retainer is weak or broken and you'll need to extract the wire and repair/replace the retainer clip on the metal terminal on the wire.

Shane P for Model Number Magtag Fridge - MF12269VEM2

We've had the this fridge for approximately 6-7 year and love it. Yesterday we came home to find the display panel blank and when you touch any button it displayed all digital zero's (8's). Further when you press the Freezer Temperature control - up & down, the ice flap opens and closes. The fridge and freezer are not working, although the lights inside are. I had unplugged the unit for approximately 30minutes (twice) then plugged it back in, at one time it did display both the freezer and the fridge temp, then blanked out again, after which if you pushed any button it displayed zero's. This seems to be a common occurrence with these units and I believe it to be the Main board at the rear of the unit which I intend to change, but could it be anything else?

1 Answer

Shane, You will want to check the wire harness at the door hinge to make sure that there are no loose or damaged connections. If this checks ok then the main board will most likely be the issue.
