This is an oven control board and clock manufactured by Whirlpool. It allows the user to adjust temperature, change oven function, set timers, and more. While the control board is designed to be durable, it can fail over time through exposure to moisture or high temperatures. When the oven control board begins to fail, it will not respond to user input, or may respond incorrectly. Replacing the control board is the only option to restore functionality. To replace it, turn off the power or unplug the oven. Remove the four screws holding the control board in place and disconnect the wires. Install the new board by following these steps in reverse. This is a genuine OEM part. It is sold individually, and fits Whirlpool, Roper, and Amana branded ovens.

Hello Mike. Check the J2 harness and if it is good, replace the power relay board on the unit.

Chuck, The F7 error code on your range indicates a button / key is pressed for longer than 30 seconds. This would indicate a short circuit in the keypad assembly WP71002041. You'll need to remove power to the range, open the oven door, remove the screws along the bottom of the control panel and pivot the panel down and out at the bottom. Label and disconnect the wires to all the switches and clock and transfer the parts to the new control panel.

Hello John, This will most likely take a new clock (AP3160662) to correct the issue.

Sue, You'll need to remove both the elements WP71001680 and WPW10310260 and check for the proper resistance (bake element 20 ohms, broil element 16 ohms resistance) and check to see that neither element has and missing areas or "boiled" areas on the carborundum coating. You'll need access to a multimeter TJMA-DM1 in order to test the resistance and the voltage (220 VAC) to the elements in a bake mode, to verify if the relay board 12001689 is not at fault.

I order the Electric Control Switch #71001799 for my Jenn-Aire dual fuel range. After 8 months it has failed again. I called and another one was promptly shipped. It has come in. Thank you for prompt service. My question is: This part replaced a factory switch which lasted 12 years. Why would the replacement part from the factory onlyt last 8 months? I am afraid I wasted my money on a part when I should have bought a new stove. What is your opinion? Is there another problem?

1 Answer

Eris, Though the parts are manufacturer OEM parts there is always a possibility of failure of a part. In most cases the parts do not fail but there is always a possibility of a weak part.

Hello Dave. You will need to order part numbers WP71001799 and WP71002300 to repair the unit. The control board will repair the display and the panel will repair the numbers not working.

Jeremy for Model Number SCE30600B

My jenn-air bottom element went out and I took it out ot get replace and made the mistake of plugging It back In so we could use the stove top but had a brain fart and turned oven on. After 10 minutes I heard a pop and smelled burnt wire. After inspection I seen the the broil wire in back that hooks to the top element had burnt marks around it. And so I hooked both elements back up and plugged it back in and now nothing work stove-top oven light-nothing!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im afraid I turned a 60 dollar element fix into a bigger one?!?

1 Answer

Jeremy, Hopefully it's only a tripped breaker due to the loose wires to the element. The top burner elements ans switches are a direct line to the terminal block, and not associated to the relay board W10757086 or oven control WP71001799, so reset the breakers/fuses and recheck for 220-240 VAC to the range outlet and terminal block of the range. Once you get the elements and wiring installed if you still have an issue, suspect the relay board on the back of the range, relay contacts don't react well to direct shorts to ground.
