For Whirlpool Oven Control Board (Part Number: OEM18032049)

Del for Model Number ww27430P

The clock was dimming so I bought a control board # 71001872 from Mel B off of Amazon for 113.00 for my jenn air double convection overn. I connected it. The clock looks great but now the touch pad keys do not function correctly. The bake on the top will not work but the bottom bake works but it will not cancel so I have to shut the oven off from the breaker. A few of the numbers do not work when pushed, (2, 9, 6). The oven light button works, the oven time or lock buttons work. Do you think that the control board is defective. An electrician came out and said the J1 and J2 harness are good. He thinks it might be the touch pad which are no longer available at all. I can only bake on the button oven but have to shut if off at the breaker. Any idea's. Should i order another control board.

Hello Del, It does appear that it has to do with touch pad. You can disconnect the ribbon cable and make sure that there is no corrosion and make sure it is clean. If this checks ok and it is seated good then touch pad is bad.

Richard for Model Number WW30430W

The top oven of our double oven, model #WW30430W only works part time, the bottom oven always works. Sometimes when the touch screen display buttons are pushed for the upper oven, the display will read 100, but the elements do not heat. This is true for all modes of operation (bake, broil, convection, clean, etc.) After some time passes the oven will again operate. And yes, I have checked for delay operation. The answer is negative! Could the problem be with the control panel, or perhaps the touch screen? Or, could I have a loose connection or short in the wiring? I will appreciate any assistance you can give. Richard

Richard, You didn't mention any error codes (F1,F7,F3,etc.) and since the issue seems to be with the upper oven control buttons, you'll most likely need a new key pad assembly 71001873. But first, remove power to the oven, lower the control panel, and disconnect the keypad ribbon from the ERC connection. Uing electrical contact cleaner, or rubbing alcohol, clean the insertion end of the ribbon, and the metal contacts in the connector on the ERC, Allow the cleaner to evaporate before you re attach the ribbon, and make sure the ribbon seats fully, and tightly into the connector. Thanks

Hello Angela, The first step to any appliance repair is to discontinue the power supply to the unit. Slide the unit out to gain access to the rear of the unit and remove the panel at the top in the back, (normally 4 to 6 screws). now you will be looking at the clock assembly. I normally recommend to take a few pictures from different angles for reassembly reference. Remove the screws that hold the clock assembly to the control panel, being very careful not to drop them as they will be needed to hold the new clock in place. Remove the wires one at a time as you put them on the new clock assembly. If you do this one at a time, there is less chance of crossing the wires or becoming confused. Be sure that the locking device is locked into position on the ribbon cable connector. Reassemble the rest of the unit in the reverse order. Let us know if we can assist you further.

Chris for Model Number WW27430W

I was getting an F1 error. I replaced the clock as instructed and am still getting the same F1 error. Please note that I am still able to set the clock and it still keeps track of time. Observations: J2 control harness (purple) intact, however, it appears a field mouse chewed the brown harness sheathing (double control harness) at the Main Relay Board. It did NOT break the wire. What appears ominous is the rust like corrosion on the top of the Auxiliary Relay Board Yellow part #: 6-9708 (010-00096-00; SNCP1835 B2). There is a similar part on the Main Relay with a different part # (6-9528) that appears intact. It's a nice oven, I'd like to salvage it if possible. Thanks, Chris

Hello Chris. Based on the code you provided, it sounds like the relay board 74006612 is bad and will need to be replaced. You will need to check the J2 harness and make sure it is good and is not loose. Hope this helps.
