Hello Sergio, You will need to remove the rear wall of the freezer and thaw out the drain at the bottom of the unit with a hair dryer. You should also make sure the defrost drain hose W11512417 is attached so room temperature air does not enter the unit from the bottom.

Dick, You will want to check to make sure that there is no ice that would be caught holding the icemaker arm up. If it is not then the most likely cause for not making ice would either be no water getting to the icemaker or the icemaker is faulty.

Patty, The icemaker module has been redesigned on the new icemaker and has been made with a lower torque motor which should alleviate the pins on the gear breaking off and the gear falling off.

Hello Aaron, The cycling thermostat will have to be satisfied, (below 20°F), before the icemaker will cycle. Everytime the door is opened to check on the icemakers' production, it will delay the icemakers' cooldown. Be patient and check on it in 24 hours before deciding the icemaker is not working.

Amber, You will want to pull the icemaker out of the unit and check the fill tube to see if it is frozen. If the fill tube is frozen then clear the fill tube of ice and replace the water valve W10408179. The reason for replacing the water valve in this situation is due to the valve seeping and allowing water to trickle in and freeze in the fill tube. If the fill tube is not frozen the remove the cover on the icemaker and remove the icemaker motor module. Check the back of the module in the lower right side when looking at if from the back and check for burn marks. If there is a burn mark on the contacts then replace the icemaker part number 2198597.

Carol

I replaced the ice maker in my side-by-side. I followed your video and removing and replacing the ice maker went without a hitch. It made ice for about 36 hours. Now, the water dripping into the ice maker is overflowing that little tank on the side of the ice maker and flowing all over the contents of the freezer. The teeth on the ice maker seem are up, indicating that they would form ice cubes. Why is the water freezing before it gets to the ice maker? Is this something a 63 year old woman can repair on her own? Or do I need to call a repair person? Thanks

Hello Carol, If you can move the refrigerator out to access the rear of the unit and you can get down in the floor, you should have no problem changing the valve. There may be an issue with the icemaker that has it "out of time" and correcting this requires the replacement of the icemaker. You should also check the water pressure to the unit and the water valve may need to be replaced.
