Carlos June 25, 2016 for Model Number General Electric Side by Side model # PS123SGRC SV Relay switch bad (burned and rattling) do you have a replacement part? OEM or just universal? I installed a universal in interim but unsure about wiring...can't see CRS marking on compressor and no ohm tester available. Everything clicks on but I haven't heard it click off yet.

Steven February 27, 2016 for Model Number GSH22JSTASS I have GSH22JSTASS side-by-side GE refrigerator that stopped working. Will this part be useful to replace the ptcr-relay? I have similar three male pins on the compressor, top single pin for Overload and two pins for the relay. Any advice? GE does not provide replacement part which is very disappointing. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Steven, I'm sorry but the PTCR relay WR07X10024 for this unit has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Read More...
Provobis February 19, 2016 for Model Number KSRD25FKWH01 My Kitchenaid side by side (see model posted) stopped cooling altogether & defrosted. I determined that the starter device was bad because it rattled when shook so I ordered Whirlpool part AP3885081. The install directions are confusing for me because I don't understand how the 2 overload combos can be used for this model and/or how they are chosen by the compressor type (I have type EGY80). What's more the instruction reference to two (2) styles of start relays do not seem to apply to my compressor in any case. So I did not use either "overload combination" part & instead used the help video on line that shows the same wiring and start device I had, using the kit RELAY, OVERLOAD PART, and JUMPER WIRE to replace the old burned up start device part. The compressor then started and does cool the freezer half (don't know if it's enough though it's obviously freezing), but the refrigerator half never gets lower than 50 degrees even though everything runs CONSTANTLY NEVER TURNING OFF (defrosting?). All the fans are working but it seems to me the vent where air flows into the fridge half supplies weak air flow and is not cold enough (?). Don't know what to do now even though it's clear that replacing those start device parts (rightly or wrongly?) got the compressor working again. Ready to buy a new fridge but this time something besides Kenmore types which are more troublesome than not. Any help or suggestions out there? Thanks.
1 Answer Provobis, Open the refrigerator door and feel the air flow that is coming through the damper in the upper left corner. Once you see how the air is flow then open the freezer door and see if the air flow increases. If the air flow increases then it sounds like the issue will be that the return vent is blocked. The return vent is located on the refrigerator side above the crisper drawers. Check to make sure that there is not anything on the refrigerator side blocking the vent. If the vent is clear then you will want to check the freezer side by removing the rear wall and in the lower right corner next to the evaporator is where the return comes back into the freezer. Make sure that it is clear. This would cause the issue that you are having. Read More...
Kent January 07, 2016 for Model Number 106.54542400 I ordered Compressor start kit # AP3885081. Installed and plugged in the refrigerator. Still the same issue. Both the evaporator and condenser fans are running. I can hear the relay kick on, then click again about 7-30 seconds after the first. Both sides of the unit do not get cold. I changed the temperature thermostat and still no change. I watched quite a few videos online and researched on APP and still at a loss. I looked for a capacitor on mine, but could not find one, not installed on the overload relay or on the mount for the compressor. On the old relay, there was no 2 prong plug/receptacles on it. I am at a loss. Would a defrost component cause the compressor not to run and just have the relay clicking?
1 Answer Hello Kent. No, the compressor has failed and you will need an HVAC tech to replace the compressor on the unit. Read More...
Kent December 30, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore Coldspot 106 I ordered Compressor start kit # AP3885081. After watching a few videos, I notice that some had a capacitor that plugged into the start relay. I do not recall removing it from the old relay when I installed the new start relay that came in the kit. Is there another location that the capacitor may be? Is it part of the start relay? Refrigerator is still not cooling and the compressor can be heard clicking. Thanks
1 Answer Kent, The capacitor would be in one of 2 places. The first would be mounted to the overload relay assembly. The second would be toward the back of the compressor attached to the base. In most cases the capacitor would not be the cause for the issue and would be a faulty compressor if the relay has been replaced already. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Joel. Based on the model number you need to order WR07X10057 and WR08X10026 for your start device needed. Read More...
Lisa September 24, 2015 for Model Number LFD22860ST The compressor stopped working. We ordered the start relay (thermistor assembly) overload protector and capacitor. What is attached the the refrigerator is a two piece unit that has a completely different look, the capacitor does not attach as the shape and pin line up is completely different, the overload protector will not release from the "starter"?, and where the start relay actually is located I can only assume is inside this closed starter unit? How do we assemble these parts to use?
1 Answer Hello Lisa. You install the overload 6750C-0004S on the compressor first then install the PTC 6749C-0014E on the compressor next. Read More...
Jim July 06, 2015 for Model Number TFX28PPC I have a GE side by side refrigerator. lately the freezer has been thawing everything in it. I looked on the back of the fridge to see if the compressor fan was running and it was not. I spun it with my hand and it started up and runs and now cools the freezer. So what ever starts the fan motor isn't doing its job. Would that mean replace the Condenser fan motor?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the evaporator fan motor in the unit. Read More...
Cesar June 30, 2015 for Model Number LSC27931ST What will happen if I do not use the capacitor ?
