Hello CY, Originally the factory produced this part in black, white, almond, and bisque. Unfortunately, they have substituted all the colors to black and that is all that is available now. Thanks!

Our dishwasher is dead. I checked the fuse and the switch and it is good. I checked the terminals out of the circuit board and had the top six (or 7)(as many buttons as there is for power) that had voltage when the switch was closed. I checked with direct current set at 20 and the readings were .80 for every terminal. I am not sure what the readings should be, I suspect a bad touchpad. We have had multiple power surges at out house the last few years. Do you belive it is a touchpad? that I need to order, also can you use a surge protector on the dishwasher?

The child lock starts blinking when any button is pressed and the cancel button blinks when I tried to shut the lock off. We have never used the child lock during the 12 years of use and it will not disable when the energy button is presswed for 4 or more seconds. Here is what is wierd, I took the door front apart twice to assess the problem and it worked perfectly the first time after reassembly, then went back to the lock out. Since we like the washer so well, knowing it is old, I just replaced the soap dispenser 90 days ago investing $90.00 with you. Now do I shop for a new unit or buy the part I need to extend it's life? If the part I need is the Control Panel P/N AP3044912, does it come with a new air filter or must I also order that as well?

Hello Karen. Based on the information you provided, if some of the buttons are not working properly on the unit, you will need to replace the control panel AP3044912 on the unit. You can try removing the ribbon cable and using a pencil eraser to clean the ribbon cable and make sure it is dry to see if that will repair the control panel. Make sure you have disconnected the power to the unit before doing any type of repair on the unit.Thank you for your quick response!! Does this site have a video or something showing how to do this?

Hi Karen. We have a few hundred videos on all common installations. We are very rapidly advancing these videos daily to cover these. This is one of the ones that is not taped yet unfortunately. Remove the power at the breaker. Remove the inner door panel screws. This will give access to the insides of the control area. Unplug the wax motor or wire connections as they go to the soap dispenser itself. Remove the control board cover and inspect the control panel connections. There is not too much to do to access all of this. Thank You.

My dishwasher will not start. The buttons on the right side starting with soak and scrub, ending in the middle with high temp wash light up. The left side starting from the middle is engery saver dry to cancel Button, they do not light up. Above that is water heating and child lock. neither of those light up either. My grandkids were here, I don't know if they hit the child lock or if it's just a coinsident that it quit working. Any Ideas? We ck'd the float and also turned the powere off at the breaker, waited 30 seconds , then turned it back on. No Luck!! ;( We normally use the energy saver and normal wash. Thank you in advance for your help is greatly appreciated!!! Sincerley, Karen

Hello Judy. Check and see if there is any moisture getting inside the control panel and the control board. If so, it will give you problems. Also, it is not good to clean the control panel WP9744101 with any ammonia based cleaners. Also, power surges tend to damage the control boards in the units as well.

If I press resume the machine is not responding. If I press empty water the machine works. I just replace the water inlet valve due to water not filling the machine. Since I disconnected the power from the machine do I need to reprogram the security code on the machine. ( like a car) If there is a code for reprogrammation what is it? I called whirlpool and I could not believe it she said we can't help you.. If this service costs money just forget about answering my question. Thanks.

Hello Paul. This is not a pay for the answer site and there is no code for the unit. If the control panel is working for the cancel, but not working for the start/resume button, it sounds like the control panle WPW10021710 may be bad and will need to be replaced. Test the ribbon cable from the control panel P1-12 and P1-4 for continuity when the start/resume button is pressed on the unit. It should read closed. If not, you will need to replace the control panel. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hi Bob. In behind the lower kick plate or the control panel is a tech. sheet that will allow a field service test to aid in diagnostics. This will decipher that you may have a stuck or shorted keypad allowing constant restart. Keypad assy. part # WP9744101. Thank You.

Hello Tommy! The model given, kudg25shw1, seems to be invalid. I have located a Kitchenaid model KUDG25SHWH1. If some buttons are not responding and all others are it would more than likely be the ribbon cable connected to the back of the control panel that has shorted out or is shorting out. You will need to replace the control panel. All control panels have been discontinued, the only color available is black WP9744101. Thanks!

Hello Raymond! The connector connected to the control board should pull off. There is not special way to unhook. Thanks.
