Jill for Model Number KUDI01ILBL6

Hello, Regarding the problem first described below, we replaced the fuse (without obtaining a multi-meter first, since the fuse was relatively inexpensive) but it turns out it was not the fuse. What would you suggest we try next? Thanks so much for your help Hi, the dishwasher stopped working mid-cycle. No lights on control panel. They flashed once when I opened and closed the dishwasher, but then everything shut down. Thanks for your help. Jill for Model Number KUDI01ILBL6 Answer Hello Jill. You need to check and see if the fuse 8193762 is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read more: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-panel-cntl-8531816-ap3726665.html#ixzz2EHKA2l2Z http://www.appliancepartspros.com

Rose, You most likely have a faulty keypad/control panel assembly. "PROBLEM: WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS BLINKING : Stuck key(s) or shorted circuit(s) in keypad. Shorted circuits or connections on the control that read the keys ". WP8531816 is the part you want to order and start with, based on your post. Thanks and Good Luck

Hi Mike. You can quickly go to your local hardware store and buy the Torx-type "security" screwdrivers or the 1/4" tips. There is always one screw that has a dimple in the very center that a regular torx type screwdriver will not have a hollow shaft allowing the dimple to go into the middle. Thus preventing the regular D.I.Y. to access internal electrical parts for safety. It is either a T- 15 -or- a T-20 size. If you can at least get one out and take it to the store with you, then you can match the correct security type screwdriver. Thank You.

Hello Jim. No, the control panel WP8531816 is the same to change as the others. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the screws securing the inner door panel. Remove the inner door panel and remove the cover off the control board. Remove the ribbon cable from the control board and remove the screws holding the control board housing in place. Next remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Reinstall with the new control panel in reverse order. Hope this helps.

Art, You're on the right track, "PROBLEM: WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS FLASHING RAPIDLY = Stuck key(s) or shorted circuit(s) in keypad. Shorted circuits or connections on the control that read the keys." You will need to replace the control panel/keypad assembly WP8531248 and be careful with the ribbon connector and connections. Thanks and Good Luck
