Jill December 06, 2012 for Model Number KUDI01ILBL6 Hello, Regarding the problem first described below, we replaced the fuse (without obtaining a multi-meter first, since the fuse was relatively inexpensive) but it turns out it was not the fuse. What would you suggest we try next? Thanks so much for your help Hi, the dishwasher stopped working mid-cycle. No lights on control panel. They flashed once when I opened and closed the dishwasher, but then everything shut down. Thanks for your help. Jill for Model Number KUDI01ILBL6 Answer Hello Jill. You need to check and see if the fuse 8193762 is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read more: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-panel-cntl-8531816-ap3726665.html#ixzz2EHKA2l2Z http://www.appliancepartspros.com
1 Answer Hello Jill. If the fuse did not fix it, you will need to look for a loose connection and make sure there is 120 volts coming to the control board. Also, check the door switches and make sure they are good. If all is good, replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Uhuuhu October 03, 2012 for Model Number KUDIO1ILBL6 The "heavy" light flashes, and when I touch the other buttons, they ALL flash. If I toggle between heavy and normal, sometimes it will set and I can start the dishwasher. It happens every 2 weeks - we also disconnect the ribbon cable, wait a few minutes then reconnect and it will work at least one time. Which replacement part would you suggest? Thank you for the support on your site - it's SO very helpful.
1 Answer Hello uhuuhu. Based on the information you provided, the control panel WP8531816 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Caltexpdx August 10, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool KUDI01ILBS6 I have replaced the control panel AP3726665, on my kitchenaid dishwasher. It worked fine,"once" Now the clean light is flashing. I pressed cancel and I turned off the breaker to see if it could reset and it is still blinking. What do I need to do next?
1 Answer Hello Caltexpdx. You neeed to check the heating circuit in the dishwasher and make sure it is good. If so, you will need to replace the control board on the unit. If the heater or thermostat is bad, you will need to replace the bad part. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Thank you in advance for your help
1 Answer Rose, You most likely have a faulty keypad/control panel assembly. "PROBLEM: WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS BLINKING : Stuck key(s) or shorted circuit(s) in keypad. Shorted circuits or connections on the control that read the keys ". WP8531816 is the part you want to order and start with, based on your post. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Mike November 30, 2011 for Model Number KUDI0ILBL6 Kitchen aid dishwasher color black Kelly.I'm sorry last week you told me about the tool I'll need to remove the special screws to remove the control panel. The tool you mentioned was made by Klein but I didn't write down the model number. The owner's guide doesn't tell us what tool to use. I'm sure it's a special size etc.... Thanks again!! Mike
1 Answer Hi Mike. You can quickly go to your local hardware store and buy the Torx-type "security" screwdrivers or the 1/4" tips. There is always one screw that has a dimple in the very center that a regular torx type screwdriver will not have a hollow shaft allowing the dimple to go into the middle. Thus preventing the regular D.I.Y. to access internal electrical parts for safety. It is either a T- 15 -or- a T-20 size. If you can at least get one out and take it to the store with you, then you can match the correct security type screwdriver. Thank You. Read More...
Jim November 21, 2011 for Model Number kudi01ilbl4 Is it difficult to replace the control panel for this model of dishwasher? If not, are there any secrets or surprises I should be aware of? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jim. No, the control panel WP8531816 is the same to change as the others. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the screws securing the inner door panel. Remove the inner door panel and remove the cover off the control board. Remove the ribbon cable from the control board and remove the screws holding the control board housing in place. Next remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Reinstall with the new control panel in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
