Richard February 26, 2016 for Model Number WFW8410SW02 I have a front load model WFW8410SW02 washer. sometimes the washer will not go through the entire process. It is sporadic, it may run for 10 minutes then turn off. Other times it will not use the softener, and will shut down. I have changed the control box twice and it still does this. The last time I had a problem it was the hose going to the pressure switch and I replaced it. Any thought as to why this machine would be doing this?
1 Answer Richard, First, disconnect the fill hoses from the faucets, flush the water supply pipes, remove and clean the screened hose washers in the end of the fill hoses and then remove the filter screens in the fill valve and clean them. A slow fill cycle could cause the washer control to shut down, but will usually cause and error code. If you remove the lower access panel, you should find the tech data sheet attached to the inside in a plastic bag. You can program the control to review the error codes logged in the memory, and the control can run an operational test and give you an idea of where to start the diagnosis. Read More...
Gale February 12, 2016 for Model Number 11047511701 Are your parts new or rebuilt? We are wanting new part.
George R December 02, 2015 for Model Number 110.47511700 Press start and add garment lite comes on, sometimes it will fill with water then nothing. Door is locked all the while. Machine will not do anything until I push stop, then it will go to drain cycle. The code f11 will appear also.
1 Answer George, Based on this information and the F11 error code would be a Motor control unit error. Possible Causes/Procedure - Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts and spacers are removed, and power cord out of the unit. - Check if washer is on a dedicated circuit. Other devices on same circuit can create line noise and cause this issue. - Unplug washer or disconnect power - Check the neutral feed to the MCU and CCU from the AC line filter. - Check all wire harness connections between the Motor & MCU, and MCU to CCU, are not broken or wires detached and connector internal pins are visible. - Make sure that all the connectors are fully seated. - Plug in washer or reconnect power cord. - Verify the unit operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle. See page 5. - After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect power cord and wait for 15 seconds Read More...
Robert July 20, 2015 for Model Number wfw8400tw02 I'm getting f28 error code. I've ran all the diagnostics and checked the connections. I pulled both the ccu and the mcu. The mcu has several badly burned circuits on it. My question is what are the chances of the motor having something wrong with it? I hate to spend this much money and then have another problem. Thanks for your time!
1 Answer Robert, It would be more likely that the mcu having burnt circuits would be the issue with the unit and not likely that the motor having an issue. You can test the resistance of the motor windings to see if they are good by checking across pins 1 to 2, 1 to 3 and 2 to 3 and there should be approximately 6 ohms. If it does not test ok then the motor is bad. Read More...
Paul May 10, 2015 Code F-11 for a Maytag Epic front load model MHWZ600TW00. Do I need the MCU or Control Board?
1 Answer Hello Paul. The Motor Control Unit has internal failure; repeating under or over voltage, or over current conditions. If failure occurs during high-speed spin the door unlocks after 3 minutes. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check wire harness connections between the drive motor and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU). Check the motor and do a continuity test. 3. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 4. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor. 5. Check the drive motor for powered rotations. 6. Replace MCU board. Read More...
Zach March 06, 2015 for Model Number MHWZ600TW01 My washer was running at the time and stopped. How can I tell if it's the line filter or the control board? There are no burn marks on either part. When I plug it in there's no click from the board. I have 25.4 volts through the line filter. There are also no lights that come on when it's plugged in.
1 Answer Zach, What's the voltage into the WPW10367632 line filter. It should be 120 VAC or you'd have a damaged line cord, or outlet power problem. Voltage out of the line filter should be 120 VAC, and it needs to be present at the IF2 connector on the CCU. 25.4 VAC isn't enough voltage to force the K1 relay closed, or the display board to react and "light up". Holladog December 22, 2014 for Model Number WFW8500SR00 My front load washer gets SD error on about 16 minutes until complete of normal wash cycle only when I use WARM water setting? It gets stuck when it in the process of using the drain pump. When I run normal cycle with COLD water, HOT water, Or Very Hot water the washing machine compeltes the cycle no problem and does not get the SD error? What is the issue with this washer only getting SD error when using warm water setting?
1 Answer Hello Holladog. If suds are detected continuously by the pressure switch during the drain or spin phases, the washer will fill 4 liters of water and during 5 minutes the unit will rest without tumbling, the water will be drained and it will try to spin or drain again. Possible Causes/Procedure ¦ If too much detergent was used: – Run the unit through a RINSE/SPIN cycle. – Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent. ¦ This should clear the unit of the excess detergent. 1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU). 4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects. 5. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 6. Check drain pump. 7. Check the pressure switch. 8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle. Read More...
Brian August 23, 2014 for Model Number 11047511700 kenmore he2 61/2 years old showing f-01 and f-28 codes should i fix it or junk it bought a inlet valve a couple months ago and two cycles have stopped working and won't spin out one single item if washed alone it comes out very wet.
1 Answer Brain, Based on the 2 error codes that are coming up, it appears the issue would be with the main control board WPW10525353. This would need to be replaced. Read More...
Robert April 22, 2014 for Model Number 110.47512602 I have had a repairman here 5 times. I replaced the pump then they replaced the CPU and the pressure switch, trap and hose. Before we were getting codes F21 F33 and SD code. After the repair man left today, ran a small load didn't get any codes but the door didn't unlock. I had to manually unlock the door. Any other suggestions what might be wrong?. Right now I have the breaker switch off hoping to reset the washer. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
1 Answer Robert, You will want to check the connection at the door lock to make sure that they are all connected properly and not loose. If the connections check ok then it sounds like the door latch assembly is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Cindy February 25, 2014 for Model Number MHWZ600TE I have a Maytag Epic washer, purchased in 2008. I push the power button and it turns on, but when I push the start button it just goes off. I replaced the control panel, the door latch and the elec.control unit. It still did the same thing, so I finally called a repairman, who said it was the elec. control, bad part. Do you thinks he's right?
1 Answer Hello Cindy, First verify all connections by unplugging and re-connecting each of the connections to the main control, the motor control, and the motor, one at a time. You then should try to put the unit into the diagnostic test as described in the tech sheet. This should be located in a re-sealable plastic bag behind the bottom front panel. While it is possible for the CCU WPW10525358 to be the issue, these units are notorious for poor electrical connections. Read More...
