Rob S.Rob, October 26, 2013 The video and instructions were not helpful. I tried both the hammer and pry method to no avail. It is much much easier, faster, and safer to remove plastic feet to get access to four screws under base, then use a vice grip to hold the coupler while you turn the screw in the center of the base. This entire process takes about a minute and will easily work. I suggest that the website update their video to show this easy alternative method.
1 Answer Rob, We are aware of the procedure you described, and on several occasions have had to recommend the same procedure. However, we do prefer to start by using the factory recommended procedures, first, then move on from there, if needed. But Thanks. Read More...
Marcy October 03, 2013 for Model Number KSB560WHO The male end that the coupler screws into broke off inside of the coupler. Is there any way to fix this or do I need to buy a new blender?
Jill July 30, 2013 for Model Number KSB560OB0 My husband and I watched this video several times and have done what it shows to do but the coupler will not come off. Is there any other way to get it off? Our coupler spins and spins clockwise but doesn't ever come off.
1 Answer Hello Jill. This is the only way to remove the coupler from the unit. Some of these can be very hard to get to turn loose from the shaft. Read More...
Fred July 04, 2013 for Model Number KSB465ER0 The threads of the drive coupler are stripped, as are the threads of the male part of the coupling unit that is attached to the jar. I know I need a new coupler, but can I get a piece for the jar or do I need to get a whole new jar unit?
1 Answer Fred, you'll have to replace the jar part number WPW10503762. The coupler is part number WPW10279256. Thanks! Read More...
Victor S. April 05, 2013 for Model Number KSB5600B0 The two plastic nuts on the inside and bottom of the blade housing repeatedly come loose despite repeated tightening. A a result, fluid leaks from the bottom of the jar where the blade housing is. It appears as if the threads in the blade housing are stripped. Can you just replace the blade and its components (which ultimately sit into the coupler in the base) or do you need to purchase a brand new jar? (this is the 56 oz jar).
1 Answer Victor, you'll need to purchase a new jar assembly. The jar is part number WPW10555711. Thanks! Read More...

Tom H. September 08, 2012 for Model Number kitchenaid ksb580nko My blender emits a small amount of oil when in use (there's a small ring of oil left on the inside of the jar base). It must come from underneath the drive coupler. Do you know if replacing it will fix it? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Tom. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the seal WP9709366 under the coupling is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
