Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Kitchen Aid Blender Drive Coupler (Part Number: OEM18055416)

Russ, The other method, is a bit "dicey", slip the end of a flat blade screwdriver under the outer lip of the coupling, " With the blender facing you, insert a flat blade screw driver between the black drive coupler and the blender housing: approximately 1/2 inch. Raise up on the screw driver; this will bend the drive coupler up . Turn the coupler approximately 1/4 turn and repeat raising the screw driver higher each time. Continue this until the coupler comes off the motor shaft. This is usually accomplished in 3 or 4 attempts." You have to be careful and try and limit the damage to the housing. Hope this will work for you, otherwise, you'll need to remove the base, hold the motor shaft,so it doesn't turn and remove the coupler from the shaft. Thanks and Good Luck

Wade for Model Number KSRB560

I would like to know what the part number is for the drive coupler on the blender jar that fits this imparticular coupling AP4500686. I've searched all over this site and all I can find is the old paddle style reciever. The model number I provided for my kitchenaid blender may be a referbished model number so it may not match the actual model number to the blender I have. I work for Whirlpool and bought it at a refirb sale and those products may be givin model numbers that represent referbishment.

Mitch for Model Number KSB560OB0

This is a follow-up on my previous question (incidentally, it would be nice if one could reply to your answers given rather than starting a new question). Sorry I did not give you the whole model number previously. I have this time, KSB560OB0. The instructions you gave me are the same ones as in the forum for part number AP2930430. Do they really apply to this coupler as well? It is different than AP2930430 for which you have given these instructions. thanks, Mitch

Hello Mitch. Unplug the machine. Open the blender case (screws are under the rubber feet). Keep the shaft from turning by loosely sticking a screwdriver up into the motor. Remove the old broken rubber clutch by gripping it with a pair of pliers and unscrewing it CLOCKWISE. Screw the new part in place, remove the screwdriver, and reassemble the unit. Hope this helps.
