Jerry for Model Number KSB560080

MY BLENDER SUDDENLY STARTED VISIBLY SMOKING FROM UNDER THE COUPLER ON HIGH SPEED LAST NIGHT. THE BLENDER WORKS ON ALL SPEEDS AND THE SHAFT SPINS FREELY, CW AND CCW, AND IT IS NOT LOCKED UP. IT HAS NOT SMOKED WHEN RUN BRIEFLY (5 SECONDS) ON LOWER SPEEDS BUT HAS A DISTINCTLY BURNED RUBBER OR ELECTRICAL SMELL COMING FROM THE COUPLER GAP. IS THERE A REPLACEABLE SEAL OR GASKET OR RUBBER O-RING IN THERE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND COUPLER THAT COULD BE MALFUNCTIONING? MANY THANKS, JERRY

1 Answer

Hello Jerry. It sounds like either the coupler or the motor WPW10225872 got to hot and caused the smoke. There is no rubber to cause this issue.

Hello Virginia. Unfortunately the manufacturer doesn't offer a blade assembly separate from the jar assembly. You will have to purchase the jar assembly WPW10555711. Thanks!

Hello Bobby. You have to hit it hard enough to break the threads loose. It is common for the coupling to turn on these, but with a quick swift hit, it will break loose.

Hello Joe. You need to check and see if the coupling is bad and is breaking the seal on the jars. It is very uncommon for the jars to leak as yours is doing. If you contact us, we can get you a replacement jar if you ordered it from us.
