Hello Bryan. There is no hard reset on this control that's available. If you hit the following buttons in this sequence within 10 seconds, you will go into the self-diagnostic program. you can then hit cancel within 30 seconds to exit diagnostics and this should reset the microprocessor. HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY, HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY Or SANI RINSE, AIR DRY, SANI RINSE, AIR DRY (Note: HI TEMP SCRUB = HI TEMP SCOUR) (Note: AIR DRY = NO HEAT DRY = ENERGY SAVER DRY) I hope this helps you out!

Well, I replaced the front control panel as it had a corroded flexi wiring harnesse between the black connector and top eschuceon which had water leak past. Unit ran fine before just couldn't select cycle. High fives myself when it ran first cycle to clean backed up loads of dishes. However, couldn't get it to run another load start did nothing cancel would run 2 minute pump out...couldn't enter diagnosis mode. Powered on and off couple times and this changed a little but still really no change. Left unplugged overnight and wife jokingly wave the kids Harry potter wand at it before going to bed. This morning I was able to get it into diagnosis mode (wand worked!) but all led's light up and d1 is displayed then 11, 8, 7,6 5, 4, 3, 2, &1 and you can hear cycles and sometimes ends with flashing add a dish led but still will not run. Why does it skip 10 and 9 and why no error codes. The sheet doesn't even list any error codes for diagnosis mode. Any help would be appreciated if I need to order a part I'd like to do it today. I've double checked heater element thermistor, high temp cutout and will be returning to try the healing wand again. Don't understand the lack of documentation on appliances.

Hi Bryan. The high temp scrub, air dry, hi temp scrub, air dry are the keys to press to operate the diagnostic mode. There is a diagnostic sheet in the kick plate or in between the inner door panel and the control board . Make sure the unit is not over soaping. If so, then fill it up w/ cold water continuously and drain over and over to get rid of the suds. Use a pitcher of water to fill it to the bottom of the element. It is best to use a shop vac and to remove the racks. Then inspect and clean all parts. If the thermistor in the bottom of the tub gets clogged it will not work correctly. Use dishwasher magic monthly to keep unit operating well. Let me know how to help further .You may need the control board part # WP8564543. Thank You.

Hi Wayne. If the unit drained at the cancel command and #2 min. popped up, this tells me that the door switches are OK. And more then likely there is an issue w/ a control board or a code stopping normal operations. Use the supplied tech. sheet in the kick plate to enter the field service test mode. This will explain how it works and what the codes mean. You will need to use a volt/ohm meter part # WB27T10549 to help. Let me know what the codes are. Do you use the dishwasher magic cleaner every/mo. to keep it clean ? Part # TJ104. Do you fill the unit with least 120° sink water ? All of this will directly affect what you may find. Thank You.

Wayne, you most likely have a problem with the control panel/keypad assembly WP8534839. Here's some help " PROBLEM: ONE OR MORE KEYS WON’T RESPOND > Open key or LED circuit(s) on the keypad. > Open circuits or connections on the control that read the keys or drive LEDs." and here's how to reset the control board HIGH TEMP SCRUB (POWER SCOUR) (HIGH TEMP SCOUR) AIR DRY (NO HEAT DRY) (ENERGY SAVER DRY) HIGH TEMP SCRUB (POWER SCOUR) (HIGH TEMP SCOUR) AIR DRY (NO HEAT DRY) (ENERGY SAVER DRY) If the above key sequence is entered with the dishwasher in Standby, the Diagnostics Cycle is started. The Diagnostics Cycle can be rapid-advanced, interval by interval, by pressing the Pots&Pans/Heavy or Anti-Bacteria/Cookware cycle key. Thanks and Good Luck

Two questions. My dishwasher has started to occasionally started to leak thru the overfill float/switch. Jiggling it from underneath temporarily stops it. I'm cleaning it, is it that or a failing switch ? I've confirmed the switch with dmm but the one tab on it is discolored as if internal contact got hot. Second question, a couple years ago I ordered a new control board from you and had to get a new heater element too as a kit. Problem is about a year later and has been operating like this for 2 years ....the unit will run thru cycles but only regular cycle. No cycle lights light when you try to select a different cycle but will run thru wash cycle when you press start. I've unplugged it for awhile to reset but no luck. How do you enter diagnostic mode ? Thanks for you help.

Bryan, Here's the diagnostic cycle programming information : DIAGNOSTICS CYCLE SERVICE FEATURE – Press the above option keys in the sequence shown, while the dishwasher is inactive, to run the Diagnostics Cycle. This cycle may be rapid advanced, interval by interval, by pressing the Pots&Pans/Heavy key, Antibacteria/Cookware key, or Start key. HIGH TEMP(Power Scour)> AIR DRY(No Heat Dry)(Energy Saver Dry)> HIGH TEMP(Power Scour)>AIR DRY(No Heat Dry)(Energy Saver Dry). Allow the dishwasher to advance through the complete cycle to off, in order to reset the control. The small leak from the float assembly could be due to a "stcky" float due to a build up on the float guide ans is not likely due to the discolored terminals.Once you've reset the control, if you still have an issue with the cycle selector keypads, you'll need to consider a new control panel/keypad assembly. Good Luck and Thanks

I have a Kenmore Elite dishwasher that burned out the thermal cut-off fuse and slightly scorched the control board. The unit was unplugged for several days, and I have replaced the fuse and double checked all connections. The dishwasher will allow me to select a cycle, but nothing happens when I press start. When I run the diagnostic sequence, all of the lights come on, but nothing happens. I tried manually advancing the sequence, with no luck. Could I have a bad control board?

Hello Todd. Make sure the ribbon cable and the door switch is good. If the board is burnt, replace the control assembly WP8564543. Hope this helps.
