Hello Gerardo, The clean light blinking 7 times is a fault code for the water heating circuit on board the unit. If the control doesn't see a predetermined increase of temperature in a set amount of time, the code will flash. First off, be sure you always run the hot water at the sink before starting a cycle to shorten the wash cycle. The most probable cause of this fault code is the heating element going open. Other possible causes are the door switch WP8269209, the control board WP8564543, the Hi-limit thermostat WP661566, and the wiring harness. Of course the first thing I would recommend is to visually inspect the heating element Heating element kit- This dishwasher heating element is for stainless steel tubs only. Includes a new computer board that needs to be replaced along with the element. For plastic tubs use W10518394. Part Number: 8194200 . If it has burned in to of course it will need replacement. If there is a white place, or much lighter place present it will need to be tested to ensure your not replacing a good part. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html . The wiring diagram should be found behind the kick panel and will guide you to the fore-mentioned components which you may need to test. After repair you will also have to place the unit into the diagnostic mode to reset the control so it can run through cycles again. This procedure is as follows: On the control panel....heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal - OR - High temp, air dry, high temp, air dry. These keys must be pressed within 10 seconds to set the control into diagnostics. At this point you can allow it to go all the way through the self-diagnostic cycle or you can press cancel. Sure hope this helps you solve your problem!

Hello Martin. Make sure the door switches are good on the unit. If so, it sounds like the user interface WP8270168 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Hello Jeff. According to the manufacture, if there is a light that continues to flash on the unit, then the control panel 8531252 needs to be replaced. This is an error code for a stuck button on the unit.

My control board on my KitchenAid dishwasher burnt out so I replaced it. Now when I'm trying to get it going, there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher that won't drain. I've gone through the diagnostic cycle but the water is still there. After the diagnostic mode, I can start a normal cycle but about 6-10 minutes in, the LCD display jumps to 2 and the Clean LED starts flashing. Does this mean my drain motor is also burnt out? How can I test this for sure? I'm not sure I understand exactly how the diagnostic mode is supposed to be used. Thanks.

Hello Robert, If the control senses a stuck key, the light that the key is stuck for will flash and the unit will be disabled until the stuck key situation is rectified. What I just said is that it looks like the part you need to correct this issue is the control panel/membrane switch. For black order WP8270223. For white order WP8270224. For bisque order WP8270225.

Hi Bryan. So since all keypad lights work then communication between the control board and the keypad are good. You need to see if the motor windings are in spec's. and not shorted. The tech. sheet will assist w/this. Is the motor locked down as if the chopper blade may have something holding it? Volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1. All electrical devices have to be within 10% total value in order to be good. Is the unit getting the full 120 vac at the board while the door switches are tripped ? Look at the fill switch under the float to see if the float stem is correctly activating the float switch. Did you ohm out the water valve to see if it is open or shorted to the body mount ? Thank You.
