For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18040017)

Cliff for Model Number KUDS01DLSS1

Hello. My dishwasher runs fine but as soon as the timer gets to 42 min it takes more than an hour to start counting down to zero. I have even run the sink water first before starting a wash cycle. When I open it at the 42 min. time the water is warm not hot, The front panel lights that are on are sensing soak and water heater. Once the time starts again the unit goes to the end with no problems. I have had this problem for three years now. It also seems that the dry cycle is too short or not enough heat, some items (mosly plastic) are not dry. I don't know if it is a thermostat or heater or main board. Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

Earl, The flashing "clean" indicator, usually indicates a water heating issue, that could be due to an "open" heater element, wire or thermostat. It could also be due to a low water temperature in the tub. Try this, Run the diagnostic test mode to reset the control board. " HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY, HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY Or SANI RINSE, AIR DRY, SANI RINSE, AIR DRY If the above key sequence is entered with the dishwasher in Standby, the Diagnostics Cycle is started. The Diagnostics Cycle can be rapid-advanced, interval by interval, by pressing the Pots&Pans/Heavy or Anti-Bacteria/Cookware or Start key." Once the test has run the complete cycle, and the control resets itself, start the dishwasher in a normal cycle, but make sure the water supply at the kitchen sink and in the bottom of the dishwasher tub is at least 120 dgrs.F. and allow the dishwasher to run the cycle, empty and with no detergent. If the clean light flashes, you'll need to check the heater and thrmostat circuit, if it works proper, you'll need to remember to check the water temp. before you start the cycle. Thanks and Good Luck

Scott for Model Number 66516579200

I have a Kenmore 66516579200 dishwasher that takes the WHIRLPOOL Electronic Control Assembly (Part Number: AP3775964). Recently, the dishwasher stopped working, displaying a flashing light on the Quick Rinse cycle and (usually) two dashes in the timer display. Unplugging overnight sometimes allows it to work again, though frequently it comes up in a mode where it wants to perform a 2-minute drain. I have looked for error codes online, to no avail (no sure they exist for this model). This Control Assembly seems like a likely replacement part to fix it, but it's still a shot in the dark. Any idea if the controller is the problem? I tried disconnecting all it's connectors, in case there was a flaky connection. No help.

Hello Scott. According to the manufacture, if a light is blinking above the quick clean, and none of the functions can be selected, to replace the control panel WP8530851 black in the unit. Hope this helps.

Mike, The issue with the dishwasher is more likely in the control panel / keypad assembly WP8531247 not the control board. The "drain" selection button is shorting out or collapsing and making the drain cycle selection. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Scott. It sounds like the control panel 8269832 is bad and will need to be replaced. Try cleaning the ribbon cable and see if that repairs the issue. If not, replace the control panel. Hope this helps.

Mike, Are the LED lights on or are they flashing ? " WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS BLINKING - Stuck key(s) or shorted circuit(s) in keypad. - Check keypad. If this is the case, you will need to replace the control panel/keypad assembly WP8531242. Since you've replaced the control board already. it would be a faulty keypad circuit or loose connection. Good Luck and Thanks

Paul999 for Model Number KUDP01DLBS3

I replaced the control bd and it worked fine for 3 days. Now there is nothing on the display. I jumpered the door switch, still nothing. The original problem: it stopped mid-wash with 2 dash lines on display and control bd was burnt on pin 8 (tan wire) which come off the switch. I checked the new bd, it's not burnt and the connection to pin 8 is solid as are all the connections. I've not checked the thermofuse but it looks the same. What could be causing this and or blowing the thermofuse if that's the case? Also is the control bd now bad?

Hello Paul999. It sounds like the fuse 8193762 is bad and needs to be replaced. Make sure the wires are replaced with the new fuse. If not, the fuse will continue to blow in the unit. Hope this helps.
