Max June 14, 2014 for Model Number GU2500XTPS (Whirlpool Quiet Partner 3) Cycle doesn't complete and the "Clean" light blinks 7 times. Tried resetting by pushing the control panel buttons in the following sequence: NORMAL-HEATED DRY-NORMAL-HEATED DRY-CLEAR and that makes the washer work for several cycles. After a few successful cycles the problem of the blinking clean light comes back and the cycle doesn't complete.
1 Answer Max, The clean light flashing 7 times is an error code that indicates that there is a problem with the heater circuit. You will want to check the heating element, thermistor or thermostat and wiring to the control board. If this all checks ok then the control is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Jane June 10, 2014 for Model Number Gu2455 Electric outlet has power. There does not seem to be any power at control panel. Is there a reset button on the machine?
1 Answer Hello Jane. You need to check the thermal fuse W10258275 in the unit and see if it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mike May 29, 2014 for Model Number KUDK03FTSS0 My dishwasher is dead. I have checked the power to the fuse and it is good. Can I jump the fuse to see if the control board works? What would make the control board go out? What would make the fuse go out?
1 Answer Hello Mike, The fuse will open when an excessive current flow is present in the circuit. Be aware that the current flow will be the same through the entire circuit. This means that the current that blew the fuse was the same from the breaker to the motor and all of it in between. For this reason, you will need to check the entire circuit for loose connections and proper resistance readings. I would start at the wire nut connections where the power is connected to the unit behind the kick panel. If there is a melted wire nut, this caused the fuse to blow. If not, ohm out the motor windings and make sure there are not shorted components and/or harnesses. If no problem is found in the unit, check connections to the breaker in the breaker box. If you jump the fuse without correcting the issue, the board will require replacement since this will allow excessive current flow to the board. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Nathern. A thermistor is a sensor that changes in resistance as the temperature around it changes. As the resistance changes, a control board reads the resistance and determines the air temperature. Read More...
Bob April 26, 2014 for Model Number KitchenAid KUDL02FRSS0 Dishwasher I can push the following buttons and they light up: Heavy Duty, Normal, Hi-temp Scrub, Sani Rinse, Heat Dry No others light up when pushed. If I choose Normal, Start the Normal light stays on for 20 seconds or so, then goes off. Unit does not start. I "rebooted" by alternately pressing Normal & Heat Dry, all buttons lit up and the unit ran what appeared to be a full diagnostic sequence (heard it fill, wash, soap opened, rinse and drain). At the end of that, I pressed the Cancel button for the 2 minute drain, it did not work. Control Panel or Control Board?
1 Answer Bob, Replace the control panel WP8572496. The issue is in the key pad circuits not the control board, since it ran the control board test properly. Read More...
Charles January 26, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore Dishwasher 665.137496603 How do you remove the computer control panel ? It appears to be easily removed, but I do not want to break any of the clips that hold it in. Any secrets on how to remove ?
1 Answer Charles, To remove the control panel of the unit you would turn the power off to the unit. With the power off you will then open the door and remove the screws around the perimeter of the inner door liner. Once the screws are out you will be able to access the control board by lifting the inner door up. Read More...
Scott P January 17, 2014 for Model Number KUDS03FTSS2 Hello, I have a KitchenAid KUDS03FTSS2. Suddenly the "Heavy Duty," "Normal Wash," and "Light/China" lights and functions have stopped working. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot the control board? The control board part number is W10084141. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Scott. If some buttons work and others do not, it is not the board. It is a bad control panel WPW10084136. You will need to replace the panel on the unit. If board was bad then none of the buttons would work. Read More...
Kt January 16, 2014 for Model Number GU2200XTSB1 My dishwasher will stop in the middle of a wash cycle and the clean light will blink. I've reset it with heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal-cancel and that works, but it's happening more and more often. I'm not sure if I should replace the control board or the control panel to see which would help. Thank you for any help!
1 Answer Hello KT. Make sure you are getting the water hot every time before a cycle at the sink. If not, that could be the issue. If you are, it sounds like the board is bad if the element and thermostat test good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
