Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Dishwasher Control Board (Part Number: OEM18044859)

1 Answer

Mike, In most cases when there are flashing lights on the control panel of the unit, the issue would be with the control panel. You would also want to check the door switches to make sure that they are making good contact with the latch assembly.

Jay for Model Number 665.13842k601 kenmore dishwasher

Dishwasher control panel lights not functioning properly. can push 'normal wash' without a response, then the start wash button and it will run normally with what appears to be random lights. runs full cycle without drying (no heater element on- typically turn it off anyway) and ends with proper 'clean' light indicator on. seems similar to prior failure that required circuit board replacement. but before buying a new board would like to know if there may be other issues to fix. thanks, Jay

Hello Jay. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WP8558208 is bad and will need to be replaced.

Hello Floyd. There is no code to reset the board. In order to reset the board, you disconnect the power for about 30 minutes. This resets the board in the unit.

Joe for Model Number KUDS03FTSS3

My Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS03FTSS3 has the keypad on the top of the door. Under normal working conditions after setting the cycle and options you press the start/resume button . The start/resume led should then lite. 3 seconds are allowed for you to then close the door and the washer begins. If you do not close the door in 3 seconds the start/resume lite will blink and you will have to press the button again and close in time for it to work. MY PROBLEM is that the start/resume led never stops blinking and I dont get the 3 second delay to close the door. I have pushed the door switch to simulate a closed door and it works until I have to release it to close the door. What's your best guess?

Joe, You will want to make sure that the door latch is making contact with the switches and if they are then the issue will be with the keypad. If you access the tech sheet behind the kickplate you will find a chart to check the keypads by.

Hello Nancy. You test for power to the main control board WPW10084141 and if it is there, you will need to replace the main board on the unit. Make sure none of the ribbon cables are damaged on the unit as well. You can check those for continuity.

Kabuki for Model Number GUI200XTLS3

My Whirlpool dishwasher is acting up. I noticed a number of lights flashing on the control panel on the door and, in fact, the dishwasher must have run because there was standing water in the unit. No one started the dishwasher. None of the buttons responded to being pressed. I could not get the "cancel" function (or any other button) to work to drain the water. I turned off the power at the breaker switch and then turned the power back on. The lights went out and I pressed "cancel" and part of the water drained before stopping and the flashing lights went on again. I turned the circuit breaker off and on again to drain the rest of the water. My problem is flashing lights, buttons that do not work and a dishwasher that doesn't work. Is this the control panel or the electronic control board? Which part(s) do I need to purchase?Thank you!

1 Answer

Hello Kabuki, On model number GU1200XTLS3, you will most likely have to replace the control panel WP8534833 since the lights flashing is an indication of stuck keys. As always, you should check for lost electrical connections at the ribbon cable before ordering parts.

Jim, The light above the keys flashing is normally an indications that the keypad has shorted out and would need to replace the Control panel.
