Hello Dirk, To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following key presses or actions in less than 6 seconds while in standby: Heated Dry ? Normal ? Heated Dry ? Normal To rapid advance one interval at a time, press the Start/Resume key. Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status and last ran information from memory and restores defaults; It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle. Calibration cycles begin with a “sensor check” to determine whether the dishwasher has an OWI soil sensor. An electronic control board, can't really repair itself. But, a faulty key pad on the panel, can cause the lights to turn on, or off and will under certain conditions, "lock up" or confuse the control board, until the power is reset the control returns to a "neutral" state.

The fuse controls the power into the control board. Since your issue is some buttons don't work and unit won't start, you need to check or replace the control panel WPW10243209, you most likely have several faulty keypad circuits, and the control can't program for a cycle.
