Tracy B. September 27, 2015 In the video they say the black sensor should be on the top and the yellow on the bottom. I just took mine apart and it is the opposite. Should I flip them? My original issue was during "normal" cycle I get a check vent signal and it's clear so I use the timed cycle and have to run it for two hours to dry a normal load. I took out the sensors and cleaned them.
1 Answer Hello Tracy, The connections do not make any difference in this case as it is a non polarized circuit. This sounds like the ducting in the home is going to be the cause of the issue. There needs to be a full 4 inch diameter to outside "atmosphere". The duct also needs to be short and straight as possible. Read More...
Richard August 17, 2015 for Model Number MEDE300VF2 Dryer is taking over twice as long to dry a load on sensing mode and on timed dry. I have taken it apart and cleaned entire duct of any blockage and cleaned the sensing strips. Any idea what the issue can be? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Richard, This is more likely a ducting issue with the duct in the home, not inside the dryer. Please check the ducting in the home and verify it is 4" rigid ducting and any flexible ducting in the home is replaced with proper ducting as per the installation instructions for your model. Nas July 29, 2015 for Model Number MED9700SQ0 My dryer is stuck on sensing. We have replaced the dryer door switch and the thermal fuse. It it still stuck on sensing. I assume it is the control panel? Is there a way it could be the sensors? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Nas, If there is no short in the circuit to the sensor bars there will have to be an issue in the control WP8546219. Read More...
Bstallings July 12, 2015 for Model Number 11060956990 On timed dry....dryer will get hot and shut off within 5 to 10 minutes. I can restart it and it will continue til clothes are dry. Sometimes I only have to restart it once and sometimes with a smaller load it's 3 or 4 times restarting until it will run to end of cycle. I cleaned out the lint and cleaned the moisture sensor bars but didn't help.
1 Answer Bstallings, If the unit is shutting down completely then you will want to check the vent to ensure no restrictions and check the door switch for intermittent operation. Read More...
Ray June 12, 2015 for Model Number RED4400VQ1 My dryer has a control dial that one side is a timed dry and the other side is a dryer sensor control that is suppose to dry longer based on the moisture of the clothes. that side doesn't seem to be working anymore. I am trying to find where in the dryer the sensor is that controls this and if you guys sell it. I haven't been able to find it. can you tell me where on this site it is. the exit venting is in the back of the drum not the front where you pull the lint screen out the top. any help would be great thanks. ray
1 Answer Hello Ray. You will need to check the cycling thermostat WP3387134 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
James June 08, 2015 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 When you push & hold the Start button, the sensing light comes on but nothing happens. Moisture sensors or control board?
1 Answer Hello James. You will need to check the thermal fuse WP3392519 and look for a broken belt on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Jay January 27, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Gas Dryer, not sure number Do you replace both moisture sensor bars or how do you know if it is just one?

Federico G January 10, 2015 for Model Number WED9200SQ0 Our Whirlpool duet electric dryer does not fully dry the clothes when using the automatic programs (we don't use the manual programs but I can tell that the dryer gets hot almost right aways). We check the exhaust pipe and is free of obstruction (its an 8' duct line). We replaced the two humidity sensor bars from the inside but still the automatic program shuts off before its fully dry. We even try changing the "dryness" set point from normal to extra dry with out luck. Any ideas?
1 Answer Federico, You will want to check the blower wheel of the unit to make sure that there is nothing that is caught in it that would cause the unit to have improper airflow because that is what would be going on with the unit not drying completely. Read More...
Gw7571 December 10, 2014 for Model Number 11067042601 Our Kenmore dryer is not working properly. You can set it on normal dry (cotton) and the timer sets itself for 40 minutes.(we only use time-dry not sensor-dry) After it runs for 5-10 minutes the timer resets itself. Some times the time goes up (like to 60 or more minutes) sometimes it goes down (to like 10 or 15 minutes) Then the dryer seems to run forever-time stays the same on the display or creeps up or down intermittingly. We just have to keep opening the door to check the clothes- Sometimes takes an hour or two to get them dry. I have removed/cleaned the vent duct, even took the back off of the unit and vacuumed it all out. The heating element is good-the dryer is producing heat. Could this maybe be a thermostat going bad?
1 Answer GW7571, The issue of the unit jumping times would not be caused by a faulty thermostat but would be an issue with the control board part number WPW10111617. Read More...
Christopher December 03, 2014 for Model Number Maytag Epic Dryer I believe that I need to replace the moisture sensor bar. The video was very helpful. Do I need to order 2 sensor bars? Thank you, Christopher
