Bob March 02, 2013 My dishwasher is only a year and 1/2 old and I hear the motor running but no water is entering. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Check for power to the water valve. If none is there check for a stuck float or bad float switch. If there is power and no water, replace the valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Joyce B. November 29, 2012 for Model Number ADMIRAL DDB1501AWW The dishwasher starts in short cycles then cuts off. It runs about a minute at most. The water will not drain out. The disposal works fine. I suspect something may be clogged but I don't know what.
1 Answer Joyce, Since the dishwasher wont wash, and it won't drain, the issue may be elsewhere in the machine. The washer pump/motor 6-919922 and drain pump WP6-917641 are separate components and we wouldn't expect both to fail at the same time, even if they were clogged. You may want to check the electrical connections in the junction box in the front behind the lower access panel, then conduct the manual and automatic test modes listed in the tech data sheet in the envlope taped to the back of the kick plate. The tests will give you a better idea of where to start. Read More...
1 Answer Hello John. Based on the information you provided, you will need to check the water level inside the unit and make sure it is filling up to the bottom of the heater assembly. If not, then the water valve W11082871 could be bad on the unit. If the water level is good, try cleaning the filters under the spray arms inside the unit with dishwasher magic TJ104. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mike December 03, 2011 for Model Number Amana ADB2200AWS Glasses and cups in the upper rack had food particles inside after a wash cycle. I removed the filter but could not find a way to clean it. The replacement part diagram shows a single pump filter plate (part # AP4362441) and apparently no way to take it apart for cleaning. If there is not a way to clean the filter, how often should it be replaced? My dishwasher is 5 years old and the filter was completely clogged. Thanks for the information.
1 Answer Mike, You normally don't need to clean or replace the filter flow plate, unless there is a heavy detergent or hard water deposit built up on the filter screens, at which point, you need to remove the lower spray arm, upper filter plate, pressure dome and impeller. It's a lot easier to make sure your water temperature is hot enough to disolve the detergent properly (120 dgrs in the bottom of the tub at the first fill of the cycle)You also want to run a citric acid based cleaner, such as "Glisten" WX10X10205 through the dishwasher, a couple of times a year, to reduce any debris or build up from the chemicals. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
David September 12, 2011 for Model Number JDB2100AWS My dishwasher sprays water out of the upper arm, but it does not spin. I can manualy spin it freely. It is not bound up. The filter is clean. The lower arm spins very slowly. The impeller looks fine and the shaft is not bent. The tub fills up to bottom of the element. Is this a motor problem? or something else?
Mike August 18, 2011 for Model Number adb1200aws My upper and lower wash arms are not turning but there is water spraying out of the holes. I took my filter out and it is almost completely clogged. Could this be my problem?
1 Answer Hello Mike. Yes, if the filter WPW10192799 is clogged, it will prevent proper water circulation. Hope this helps. Read More...
Derek B July 17, 2011 for Model Number MDB6600AWW Some of the dishes (mostly the glasses on the top rack) are coming out with small pieces (chopped up pieces) of food stuck to them. A small part of the filter is torn, could this be what is causing the food to get stuck to the dishes and glasses?
1 Answer Hi Derek. Yes the pump filter, if torn will allow fod to collect on the plates. Remove the wash arms and clean the jets. Tere are no longer phosphates included in the detergents. Consider using a bit more soap or changing to Cascade Complete or Finish. Is the tub getting enough water? The pump filter is part # WPW10192799. Thank you. Read More...
Mary May 24, 2011 for Model Number JDB1100AWS My dishwasher sounds like it's running fine and then I open the door after the cycle is done and nothing is washed. There is a lot of sediment in the bottom and after taking all parts off and trying to clean them, it's still the same. We did get some toothpicks and bones out which may have caused some damage. The filter seems dirty and torn a bit. Would this be a show stopper? Not sure if it's worth fixing. It's 6 years old.
1 Answer Hello Mary. You will need to check and see if the unit is filling with water. If it is not, then make sure the float is not stuck. If the float is good, you will need to test and see if there is power going to the water valve. If there is power there and the unit is not filling up, you will need to replace the water valve W11082871. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bill B. April 30, 2011 for Model Number MAYTAG MDB4650AWB DISHWASHER Glasses on the top rack don't seem to get clean, they have little bits of "stuff" in them at the end of the wash. Could this part (Pump filter - Dishwasher pump filter plate) be the problem? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bill! What type of material is on the top racks? This could be caused by several different things. Make sure you are using the proper amount of soap and not overloading the dishwasher. Also make sure the proper amount of water is entering the machine. Hope this information helps you. Read More...
