Richard C December 30, 2015 for Model Number JJW9530DDS Our Jenn Air oven the light stays on and the oven seems to take forever to heat up. I assume its down to weak hinges compromising the seal? Strangely enough when the oven is on I do not feel any heat escaping. In any case would you recommend I change the hinges? If so is it 2 of the the http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-hinge-door-74010283-ap4101029.html I need? Also do you ship to Canada?
1 Answer Richard, The hinges would possibly be the issue with light not going off but could be a bad light switch too. If you push on the light switch, if it goes off then the hinges would be the issue. If not then the issue would most likely be with the relay on the control board keeping it on. Unfortunately at this time we do not ship to Canada. Read More...
J.R. June 30, 2015 for Model Number JJW9630DDS The door gasket on the lower oven is hard on the bottom and appears not to be sealing. Is this difficult to replace? The door on the bottom oven does not appear to close as tightly as the upper door. Does this indicate a hinge issue or could the gasket also be causing this? Thanks
1 Answer Hello J.R., The door gasket WPW10162386 can cause the complete issue. If the hinges are "sloppy", they can contribute to the issue. If the hinges WP74010283 (two of these) have to be replaced, the manufacturers' notes say you must also replace the hinge receptacles WP74011337 (two of these). Read More...
Theresa June 15, 2015 for Model Number JMC8130DDS The oven door will not close and oven light stays on. What part number do I need to fix door. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Theresa, The door latches are part number 53001220. These are no longer available but these latch into the interlock assemblies. These come in separate pieces and are comprised of several parts. You will need to pull the microwave from the cabinet and dis-assemble to determine which parts are causing the issue. The parts for this are shown on the interlock switch parts page on our site. Read More...
Darrell January 03, 2015 for Model Number JJW8530DDS Door won't close all the way. Light stays on. How can I tell if it's the hinges or the receptacle or both?
1 Answer Darrell, The most likely cause for this issue will be a faulty hinge assembly. If the first 2 digits of you model number falls between 10 and 15 you will need part number 12002489 which comes with both receivers and hinges. If the serial number starts 16 or after then you will need part number WP74010283 for the hinges and they come 1 per package and per the factory will need to replace the receptacles also which are part number WP74011337. Gary November 14, 2014 for Model Number JJW9830DDS I took the door off and then the right hinge made a loud noise. It is now stuck in the open position. Do I need a new spring? I can force the spring down to the closed position, but it won't stay there.
