David July 04, 2018 for Model Number LSR7233BW0 This Whirlpool washer only fills. It does not agitate, spin or drain. How do I tell if the problem is the motor or the switch?
1 Answer David, I would check the lid switch on the top of the washer. You should be able to hear a click whenever the lid is closed, if you don't, you will need to replace the switch, part number 285671 Read More...
Geoff January 22, 2018 for Model Number WTW57ESVW0 The washer will not spin or drain. I took it apart-pump not jammed, coupler good, motor not frozen, jumped lid switch ok, took out inner drum and found nothing binding it up. Could it be the capacitor? The inner drum seems frozen up, not spinning freely. Thanks, Geoff
1 Answer Geoff, With the unit not draining then you will want to test to see if there is power getting to the motor when the unit should drain. If there is then this will be an issue with the pump itself. Read More...

1 Answer Sandy, First check the lid switch WP3949238 and wiring, Make sure you can hear the switch "click" as you open and close the lid several times. Check the lid hinges and grommets/ bearings, make sure the lid is fitting properly. If all's OK replace the timer WP3953066 . Read More...

1 Answer Hello Mark. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor WP3352287 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Courtney E. June 11, 2017 for Model Number LBT6133AW0 Ultra Clean Cycle selected. The washer fills and agitates as it should but once the cycle selector moves to rinse the washer keeps agitating with the tub full of water as if the cycle selector is still on wash part of the cycle. The cycle selector continues to advance past rinse and through spin agitating and then to off where the agitation stops and the tub is left with soapy water. Another clue If I run this same cycle again except when the cycle selector is on rinse I push in the cycle selector knob to stop and then pull it out to start then the machine recognizes its on the rinse cycle and will drain and rinse and spin without agitation. Stopping and starting the machine by the cycle selector is the key to have it rinse and spin other wise the full cycle will be agitation(wash) only.
1 Answer Hello Courtney, This is most likely an issue with the pressure switch WP3356467. Read More...
Joe D. February 10, 2017 for Model Number LT5000XVW0 My washer does not agitate on slow speed. High speed agitation works. Drain, rinse and spin all work fine.
1 Answer Hello Joe, This will either be a timer WP3946432 issue or a bad motor assembly WP661600. Read More...
Lorenzo T December 08, 2016 for Model Number 11026942503 My Washer machine only works when is washing but when is going to drain the motor just hums i tray with the motor out of the transmission and doing the same just hums so my question what is wrong?
1 Answer Lorenzo, If the unit is doing the same with the pump off of it then this will most likely be caused by a faulty timer on the unit. Read More...
Robert C July 25, 2016 for Model Number 11082870120 Kenmore washer, been with me since fall of 1990. Has begun to skip spinning after the rinse. Pump runs and drains the water, timer continues through the cycle, but tub doesn't spin. Problem happens on all cycles, but is not 100% consistent - sometimes, it *does* spin, but usually not. Observations: when it's in the spin cycle, pushing in the timer knob (stopping the machine) and pulling back out will engage the spin. Lifting the lid and re-closing will also engage, *but* there has to be a slight delay - a quick 'flutter' of the switch (when it's closed 'artificially', as in with a screwdriver) won't engage. Timer, clutch, and lid switch have been replaced. Nothing 'obviously' wrong inside. I cleaned the motor start switch with DeOxit - I did notice that the 'arm' was a little sticky, and that's been resolved. When I reassembled after replacing the clutch and cleaning the start switch, it worked properly for two loads. Then reverted to old behavior. The start switch is about all I can think of that's left to replace - it's obviously not the motor or the drive; it's not the timer or the lid switch. The only failure mode I can come up with is something sticking in the switch that requires current interruption to resolve. Thoughts?
1 Answer Hello Robert. If the clutch is new, then either the drive tube W10820043 or the transmission 3360629 are the issue. Either can cause the issue you are having with the unit. You can check the drive tube for wear by removing it and looking for score marks on it. Read More...
Jon H June 18, 2016 for Model Number 11092582810 Washing machine will start for about 15 seconds after filled up then shut off then unit will randomly start for 10-15 seconds and shut off. Unit also seems to do this regardless of if the lid switch is plugged in or not. (check continuity in lid switch and it seems to be fine) Motor feels very hot. I disconnected the pump from the motor and it still is showing the same symptoms.
1 Answer Jon, This issue sounds like it would either be caused by a faulty motor or the contacts in the timer are sticking and sending power to the motor to agitate and spin at the same time. This would be the most likely cause. Read More...
Fred March 23, 2016 for Model Number LSR8233EQ1 Washer works fine on regular and perm press but on delicate and hand wash does not agitate and can hear a clicking sound when it should be agitating, then it drains and spins normally. Sometimes, every once in a while the delicate or hand wash cycles will work ok but most of the time not.
1 Answer Fred, This issue would most likely be either that the motor switch is not switching to the slower speed or the timer contact is not making for the delicate speed. It would more likely be in the motor switch than the timer. Read More...
