Matt M June 05, 2016 for Model Number RGSF5330DT I am trying to identify if my oven temperature sensor is faulty. If I use another thermometer, to verify oven temperature, where should I place the thermometer? Dead center in the oven or near the ovens thermometer in the top corner?
Dawn January 14, 2016 for Model Number CGR1425ADT Magic Chef Stove My oven takes a very long time to heat up and never reaches the desired temp. I just turn it off.
1 Answer Hello Dawn. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Sheryl July 06, 2015 I have the Maytag Model #MGRH752BDB, When I program it to 350 degrees it never reaches that temp. It will raise very slowly from 100 to 105 then maybe 15 minutes it will reach 110=115. Then I finally turn it off. Is this the sign of the oven temp sensor. Please advise. I am doing repair myself so any information that you can give a woman would be appreciated. Thank you!!
1 Answer Hello Sheryl, The oven temperature sensor should read about 1100 ohms at about 70°F. There will be slight variations but this reading should be within about 10% tolerance. If this reading is way off, the sensor should be replaced. If a wire looks like it has been hot, is discolored, or the insulative material contacting it is malformed, this are an indications of a poor contact. This could also be an issue with the gas valve or the bake WP7432P136-60 or broil 74007498 ignitors. Read More...

1 Answer Sheryl, To properly assist you we will need your model number to help you with this. You can test the oven sensor for 1090 ohms at room temp to make sure that it is good but also check your elements. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Harold July 01, 2015 for Model Number CWG3100AAEE Have Maytag gas oven (serial # 27148715JA). Oven goes to temperature then stops. When oven goes off, it shows F-3 or F-5 on screen. What part do I need to replace please?
1 Answer Hello Harold. The F3 is Controller not receiving data from temperature sensor. And the F5 is No control output. This means the clock 12001620 is bad. The clock has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
C.C.S. May 03, 2015 for Model Number MGR5729ADQ Sometimes the oven heats to the desired temperature but occasionally it doesn't. The oven will get hot just not hot enough. Is this typically a temperature sensor that needs to be replaced or could it be something else?
1 Answer Hello C.C.S., This can be caused by a defective temperature sensor 12001655, a poor electrical connection between the control and the sensor, or a bad control WP5701M382-60. Read More...
Rob April 11, 2015 for Model Number 3488XRW Oven control doesn't light or operate oven. However, the boiler lights and works fine. Would this be due to a faulty sensor? Is there a means to test it? Is there something else I should look at? Thanks for your input, Rob
1 Answer Rob, With the oven bake not lighting you will want to check the igniter to make sure that it is glowing. If it is not then test to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the igniter. Test for 3.2-3.6 vac at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Linda B. March 21, 2015 for Model Number CWG3100AAB Video was great for free standing oven. How do I repair a wall oven? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Linda, If there is enough slack in the wiring for the sensor connector to be pulled through the rear wall of the unit and the new connector is pushed all the way through both steel panels, it can be done from inside the bake compartment. If the connector comes loose, the unit will have to be pulled from the installation and the rear panel removed to access the wiring. Read More...
