Sally April 23, 2014 for Model Number 106.89583706 Kenmore elite freestanding ice maker Machine is powering off after a few cycles. No lights are lit up
1 Answer Sally, In a lot of cases with this model the issue would be one of 2 things. If the unit is hooked up to a auxiliary drain pump then it is possible that the pump has a short in it that is causing the unit to power off. The other thing would be the water level sensor. If the sensor is faulty it can cause the unit to power down thinking that the water is continuously filling up and overflowing. You will want to test the sensor and if the sensor checks ok and not on a auxiliary drain then the issue would be the control board. Read More...
Jawed March 20, 2014 for Model Number kuic18nntso I have kitchen aid ice machine model # kuic18nntso. The water pump and water valve not working.
1 Answer Hello Jawed. Test for power to the parts. If there is no power, then the control board WPW10141364 will need to be replaced in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Raymond February 04, 2014 for Model Number GI1500XHW9 The Ice maker ( Whirlpool GI 1500XHWP) will make ice for about 24 hours, then sticks in noisy mode and stops producing ice. I have turn it off, and wait for about 12 hours then, turn it back on. It will then recycle and start making ice again. It also will make a clicking on and off sound for a while before to gets stuck in the noisy mode. The drain pump works, and I had the control module replaced. Still has not solved the problem. The unit has been cleaned. What part do I need to replace next?
1 Answer Hello Raymond. It sounds like the valve is bad and is not filling the unit all the time. You may need to replace the water valve on the unit. Read More...
Joe January 30, 2014 I just had a problem with a pump on a kitchen aid ice maker and fixed the pump. Now the unit works and harvest ice but the pump runs all the time is this the thermostat or am I going in the wrong direction. Also how does leveling affect the machine. Thanks Joe
1 Answer Hello Joe. Leveling just affects the water level in the fill bin. You may need to replace the level sensor. Read More...
Mary January 21, 2014 for Model Number KUIA15NRHS9 My icemaker stopped making ice. We cleaned everything, and everything seems to be working, but the unit is not producing ice. Can anyone tell me the voltage of the re-circulator pump so we can test it? It is filling the resevoir and the cold plate is cold. So we can't tell if the re-circulator pump has gone bad or if the mother board is not sending a signal to the re-circulator pump. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mary Jo
1 Answer Hello Mary. You should have 120 volts coming to the pump in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mohawk January 05, 2014 for Model Number KUIS155HBS3 The pump is not running when Ice maker is turned on. It doesn't even run when the Ice maker is set on clean. Is the pump gone???????
1 Answer Hello MoHawk. You need to test for power coming to the pump. If there is power there, and the pump does not run, you will need to replace the pump. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. John December 12, 2013 for Model Number GE Monagram model # ZDI15CBBH My ice maker makes a sustained "marching" noise after making a slab of ice. The slab of ice gets stuck to the chiller plate and does not slide off. I have cleaned the unit with nickle free cleaning solution twice. I have removed the cutting grid and have cleaned the sides of the chiller plate that extend vertically up from it. The entire plate is immaculate and shows no signs of wear or damage. What do you think?
1 Answer Hello John. It sounds like the reversing valve is not reversing to release the ice from the plate or the unit is not cycling off to release the ice. See if the sensor is hanging from the bottom of the plate. If so, the evaporator WR85X10045 will need to be replaced. Read More...
Tony October 11, 2013 for Model Number KUIA15NRHS6 I have a Kitchenaid free standing ice machine. After going thru 1 cycle the machine stops making ice and the cleaning button led flashes. Now I know normally that means to let the machine go thru the cleaning cycle but already did that and it still flashes red led. Any thoughts. Thanks
1 Answer Tony, If the clean light flashes 2 times then there is a bin thermistor fault and if the clean light flashes 5 times then there is an evaporator thermistor fault. If the unit is steady flashing with no pause then the control board is most likely faulty. Read More...
Danielle October 06, 2013 for Model Number KUIS15NRHS9 I have a kitchen aid ice maker. It started leaking from the bottom and I took off the front panel. There is a small blue part on the left side that has a sort of electrical plug into the back and a hose coming into it from the bottom. It is leaking. What is this blue part called? I think if I just replace it the connections will be new again and the leaking will stop. Thank you!
Brian September 19, 2013 for Model Number KUIA18NNJS4 I recently replaced the circulation pump in my Kitchen Aide ice machine. The unit was up and running great. Just last night I opened the unit to get ice and noticed the unit was really warm inside and the unit was low on ice. I checked the unit this morning and the unit is empty and very warm inside. The circulation pump is running and water is flowing over the plate however there is not ice freezing. The circulation pump is very warm to the touch and is still working constantly running water over the plate. I assume the pump is warm because it is constantly running. Would this not be making ice because the freeze plate is not working now. I need some help asap. thanks
1 Answer Brian, You will need to check to make sure that the compressor is running. If not then most likely the start relay has failed. Also check to make sure that the condenser fan is running and that the condenser coils are clean. If all this checks ok and the compressor is running then the issue would be a sealed system issue.
