Bangorme for Model Number ED22DQXDN01

I have a model ED22DQXDN01 Whirlpool side by side refrigerator that has stopped making ice. The icemaker dispenses ice cubes/crushed through the door and the auger is in the ice bin. When I look at it, the arm is in the intermediate position and the tray is full with ice. If I press the arm down, the ice ejects, the arm returns to the intermediate position, the tray fills and the arm doesn't go back to the lower position. Is there a specific part I need, or does the unit need to be replaced?

Dean for Model Number maytag # mzd2766geb

Question #1, well as you will see, I have a lot of time on my hands. I started timing the cycles after it was shut all night and not opened. It runs 20-25 minutes on, and 20-25 minutes off. Except 40-45 mi. defrost, is this normal run time? I have the freezer slide set at 2&1/2 which gives me a 5-10 below zero. The frige slide is set at 6&1/2, which gives me 40%. Question #2, can I get 35 or is it preset? Question #3, what wood I gain by moving frige slide to 8 or 9? Question #4 , when leveling this side by side where do I put the level side2side and front2rear? Question #5, does this frige have a 24 hr. timer? Question #6, Thank you. I think this will be helpful 2 others.

Hi Dean. Yes, your findings are all normal. All manufactures recommend both compartments at a "mid-" point settings. If you use a genuine quality temperature gauge, you can first monitor the center of your freezer cabinet. Get it set to -0 degrees , not colder than -2 degrees. Then put the gauge in the middle of your fresh food cabinet and set it between 37 degrees and 47 degrees , depending on how cold you like it. Yes the temperature capillary along with the actual controls are 'preset' (plus or minus 10%). You would really have both controls fighting against one another if you crank them up on the fridge side. The compressor runs to satisfy the fresh food temp. setting in relation to where it is set. By frosting the evaporator, freezing the freezer, the evaporator fan sends cold air through a damper control that is set by your freezer control. Therefore your fresh food section becomes cold. Yes, definitely take the time to level your unit as you explained. This allows the compressor to be operating level, along with the ice- maker and the doors closing properly. Yes this refrigerator has a Adaptive Defrost Control board. This controls your defrost , compressor run time, water usage monitor and vacation monitor definitions. This part # is 61005988. Thank you.

Hello Randy. When the icemaker cycles, it sends power to the water valve to bring in water. This is just for a few seconds. You can test and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, and the water does not come in, you will need to replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
