The Dispenser Actuator is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It is responsible for controlling the release of detergent and fabric softener during the wash cycle, ensuring that these cleaning agents are dispensed at the correct times.

Causes of a bad dispenser actuator can include wear and tear over time, damage from detergent residue build-up, or electrical faults within the actuator mechanism. If the actuator fails, it can disrupt the washing cycle and prevent proper dispensing of cleaning agents.

Symptoms of a bad dispenser actuator include:

  • Detergent or fabric softener not being dispensed
  • The washer displaying error codes related to the dispenser
  • Intermittent or inconsistent dispensing
  • Unusual noises during the dispensing phase

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

-washer will not cycle, and getting F32 error code -on power up, machine accepts input selections and starts cycle, but no water comes in, motor turns the drum momentarily (then stops) drain pump activates then continues to stay on. Washer seems to get stuck in the drain mode, with pump running, and will not cycle further. -as long as power remains on, pump continues to run, but machine will not respond to any inputs (will not pause or turn off) -have power (110v) -door stays locked (flashing light) What I've done; -confirmed 110V power -checked water pressure (good) , hoses (clear, unkinked) , checked inlet valve filters (clean) and tested inlet valves with multimeter (good) - they have continuity -cleaned drain pump reservoir and confirmed it pumps/ empties drum (I filled tub manually, selected drain/spin mode and it all pumped out- but pump keeps running even when tub is empty) -door stays locked -disconnected power and opened locked door with manual override -power back up and machine accepts inputs, starts cycle, but then back to the problems described above Maytag hotline says F32 is a drain issue. Any ideas? Is there a switch that should tell the pump to stop, so machine can cycle further? Would this the trigger the water inlet to add water?

Hello Ben. F32: PRESSURE SWITCH FAILURE. If there is no electrical supply to the Pressure Switch from the CCU or if the Pressure Switch contacts are worn out, then a Pressure Switch Failure is displayed. Check Pressure Switch harness for continuity. If good, replace the pressure switch.

Hello Maggie. Communication between the Central Control Unit and the MCU has not been detected. Possible Causes • Check door switch operation. Faulty switch may interfere with power to MCU. • Check drive system for worn or faulty components. • Verify continuity in cable between CCU (MI3 & MS2) and MCU

Machine does not dispense fabric softener. We add liquid soap and fabric softener and run through the cycle. After it is complete the clothes are clean but when we open the dispenser drawer, the soap is gone but the fabric softener is still there. We removed the dispenser drawer and took it apart and cleaned all the parts. Then reassembled the drawer, then added more soap and fabric softener. Then ran another load of wash with the same results (i.e, soap was gone but fabric softener was still in the dispenser). Seems like no water is flowing into the fabric softener part of the dispenser drawer. What could cause this? Haven't seen any error codes show up.

Rob, First check and make sure the linkages aren't " locked up" or out of alignment. The check the wiring connections at the dispenser switch and the CCU, make sure there's no loose connections or corrosion on the pins and connectors. Then conduct the Diagnostic Test program and check for voltage to the motor and the switch, from the CCU.

Mark for Model Number WFW9200SQA10

The bleach compartment dispenses periodically. Sometimes it doesn't dispense at all. Most other times, it will fill with water but not drain out. It will drain most the time when the unit is pulled out. This is naturally devastating when colors are already in the washer and the unit is opened to add detergent. There doesn't appear to be an issue with the detergent or the softener. I initially figured I'd order Part #AP4926976, but now, after reading some questions, cannot be certain there is another issue. Any direction and feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help!!!

Hello Mark. Remove the drawer and clean it out very well. If the issue continues, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit if it is not washing out the bleach.

Gary, You will need to make sure that both valves at the water supply are turned on all the way and check for kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valve. Verify that the valve is working. Check the wiring harness to the valves. If the unit is sending power to the valve but nothing happening then replace the valve.

Adrian, Were the dispenser switch/ motor assembly bad, I'd expect a F 30 fail code. I'd expect you to have an issue with the dispenser linkage WP8183183, WP8183184,WPW10161052 or diverter nozzle WP8181712. Once you unplug the power cord and remove the washer top panel, you'll be able to determine the issue. If you remove the lower access panel, you should find the tech date/information sheet and conduct the diagnostic codes and operate the individual components from the control panel. Thanks and Good Luck
