Rick August 20, 2016 for Model Number 66513429K701 My dishwasher will not completely pump out during cycles and at the end when the door is opened there is a couple inches of dirty water left. Cancel drain pumps down some. It takes a couple cancel drains to empty. I disconnected the hose looking for clogs and have none. I removed the drain pump and cycled while watching the impeller. I appears to be in good shape and the cycle looks strong when turned on. Could it be the float switch?
1 Answer Hello Rick, This can be a clog inside the dishwasher pump and motor assembly preventing the diffuser WP8579251 from rotating properly or the diverter W10155344 has failed. Read More...
Rob February 22, 2016 for Model Number GU1200XTLT1 Water gushes out from the bottom middle of the door. We replaced the water inlet valve and door gasket. The float was cleaned and tested the float switch. Had a service technician come and he cleaned out the filter area and all areas he could reach from the inside. This stopped the leaking temporarily but again when water shuts off and wash cycle begins, water leaks out. We re-checked the filter area and there is nothing clogging. When we press cancel, the water pumps out. What else could be wrong?
1 Answer Hello Rob. Check for bad spray arms. Also, make sure the dispenser in the door is not leaking and make sure your not using to much soap in the unit. Read More...

Kevin O November 28, 2014 for Model Number GU3600XTSB0 Washer is not filling. I replaced the water inlet valve but that did not fix the problem. The float moves freely and clicks when lifted up and down. Any suggestions on where to look next and how to isolate problem a bit further before putting another part in?
1 Answer Hello Kevin. Test the float switch. If it is good, and the water is turned on and the wiring is good, then you will need to replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Paul April 06, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool GU1500XTLB3 My dishwasher has overflowed several times recently near the end of the cycle. Right now, if I turn the water supply to the dishwasher on, water starts flowing into the tub. If I press Cancel, it pumps water out, but water continues to flow into the tub, even after the cancel cycle ends. What should I do?
1 Answer Hello Paul, If sufficient water pressure is to the valve to properly close it, the water valve WP8531669 has failed and will have to be replaced to correct the issue. you should also check the flood switch since this should kick the drain pump on if the water level gets high enough. Carol H April 28, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool dishwasher 8268909 We are trying to replace the float #8268909. We cannot get it off. Should it come off from under the dishwasher, inside the dishwasher or other?
1 Answer Carol, The float itself would just pull straight up out of the inner tub of the dishwasher. To remove the float switch, there is a compartment under the unit that houses the float switch that you would remove. This should just be held in by a couple of screws. Read More...
Marlene April 23, 2013 for Model Number GU1100XTLQ1 Water has flowed over onto floor the last few times the dishwasher has run. Could is be the float switch or any other suggestions
1 Answer Marlene, You will want to check to make sure that the spray arms are not clogged or cracked which would cause wave action in the tub of the unit. If the unit does not stop filling with water and overflows then you would want to check the float switch. Check the continuity. If the switch checks ok then it may be the spray arms or the water valve allowing water to continue to come into the unit. Read More...

Phil M. April 18, 2012 for Model Number 665.15892100 My dishwasher overflows on the last rinse. The float works and the switch is ok. What else will cause it to overflow?
1 Answer Hello Phil, There are a couple of things that I would suspect. The water valve could be sticking, causing a longer fill than designed. The water pressure could be low enough that if someone is washing their hands or otherwise using the water, there isn't enough water pressure to close the valve. There could be an over soap situation. The bubbles will jump the air gap at the bottom of the door and pop before they hit the floor, appearing to be a simple water leak. Chas March 26, 2012 for Model Number Kenmore 665.13103K902 When I added hot water to the start of the cycle it cleaned much better especially for the top tray. Suspect not filling with enough water. What part would cause this problem?
1 Answer Chas, the most common issue for your complaint, is a clogged fill valve W10648041 debris and sediment from the pipes enter the valve and reduces the water flow into the machine. You do want to check the float assembly, manually raise and lower the flaot, make sure it moves freely, and you can hear the water level switch "click" then replace the fill valve. With a proper operating float and fill valve, the water level in the bottom of the tub, after a fill and three to five minute wash, should be in touch with the bottom of the heater element.
